The special
parts
supplier, Yoshimura
took their debut victory in
the
1978 Daytona 100-mile Race entering
their
Suzuki
GS1000
equipped
with
a
revolutionary exhaust system. Since then, Yoshimura has
be-
come
famous
around
the globe
by achieving repeated
success
as a
fac-
tory
team.
ln
1999,
a
racing machine version
of the
Suzuki
Hayabusa
1300 (GSX1300R),
developed by Yoshimura using unique state-of-the-
art technology gleaned on
the
racetrack, was entered in the
Suzuka
I
hour Race
X
Formula class. Yoshimura's machine
took the victory
in
both
the
1999 and 2000 of
this
class, in
which
a
wide-range of modifica-
tion is
permitted
on
motorcycles
of
750cc
and
over.
A
replica
of
the
Yoshimura
Hayabusa X-1
was
released
on the open market
in
the year
2000 as a customized, street-legal bike.
The
Yoshimura version of the
Das

elt worden war,

8-Stunden-Bennen
in
der
Klasse Formel X an den
Start gebracht. Yoshimura's Maschine holte sich sowohl

Hayabusa featured original cowling,
and
a
revolutionary exhaust Tri-
Oval
Titanium Cyclone
muffler,
giving it
a
different
appearance
from the
GSX1300R.
Unlike
the
unique, vertically positioned headlights
of
the
GSX1300R, the headlights
of
the Yoshimura X-1 were
modified
into
a
lev-
el design
with
ram air
ducts equipped on both
sides. The
1
300cc liquid-
cooled inline 4-cylinder engine was overhauled and incorporated spe-
cial parts such as ported
cylinder heads,
minor
polished lightweight
valves, high-camshafts and high-comp pistons.
Front
and
rear
suspen-
sion was reset
to
enable
high-speed
running.
Each
of the 100 limited
edi-
tion
Hayabusa
X-1 motorcycles
were
crafted
one
at
a
time, with the
ini-
tials
of
the craftsman engraved on the cylinder head.

the
initial announcement.

auf 100 begrenzten Auflage
der
Hayabusa X-1
Motonàder wurde in
Ein-
zelanfertigung gebaut,
wobei die
lnitialen
des
Mechanikers in den
Zylin-
derkopf eingraviert wurden.
Es
war kein
Wunder,
dass sie schon
bald
nach der ersten Ankündigung ausverkauft waren.

sortie de cette série limitée.
