Setup
a) The touch display
• The product is equipped with a touch display (8) which enables easy navigation.
• Tap a display field or symbol to enable it.
• You can swipe to the next or previous page in the translation area to view the text there.

arrow symbol on the upper left side of the display takes you back to the previous page.
b) Chargingthe internal rechargeable battery
Do not use a USB port of a computer, keyboard or USB hub without a power adapter
to charge the internal rechargeable battery, as the current supplied by these ports is
not sufficient. This can cause damage to the connected product.
• Connect the micro USB plug of the USB charging cable to the micro USB port (6). Connect
the USB-A plug of the USB charging cable to a USB charger. Use a USB charger with
5 V/DC (charging current max. 1 A).
• When connected to a USB charger, the display shows the current state of charge as
a percentage. The charging time can last up to 4 hours with a charging current of 1 A.
• Pull the micro USB connector briefly out of the micro USB port and reconnect it after approx.
5 seconds to show the current charge status of the rechargeable battery on the display.
• Disconnect the USB charging cable as soon as the rechargeable battery is sufficiently
charged. When you switch on the device, the battery-charging display (12) appears on
the display. Recharge the rechargeable battery as soon as only 1 or 2 bars are displayed.
c) Select the system language and establish a WLAN connection
• Press and hold the on/off switch (1) for approx. 3 seconds to switch on the device.
• The touch display (8) switches on and is ready for use after approx. 10 seconds.
• Open the settings menu by tapping the Settings symbol (11).
• Select the "System language" menu item. The default setting is English.
• After tapping on the appropriate language, all menus are displayed in that language. The
language menu will be changed immediately.
• Establish the WLAN connection. A numeric and text entry field appears on the display for
the entry of the password of your WLAN connection. It may take several seconds for the
connection to be established. The WLAN symbol (13) appears on the display.
• Exit the menu by tapping the arrow symbol in the upper left corner.
If, despite a successful connection, you do not receive WLAN and the following
message appears in the display, reset the device: "No internet, please check
your network! 0x0000001" . Hold down the on/off switch for approx. 3 seconds.
"Power off" and "Reboot" appear on the display. Tap "Reboot". The product switches
on again after approx. 10 seconds.
d) Translate
• Select the display field Mother Tongue (10) and Foreign Language (9). Tapping the display
field shows the available languages (70 languages in total).
• After you have selected the mother tongue and the foreign language to be translated, you
can start with the translation.
• Hold down the Mother Tongue button (3) and pronounce clearly the word or text to be
translated. Release the Mother Tongue button as soon as you have finished speaking.
The available time for voice input is max. 60 seconds. The translated text is output on the
loudspeaker (2) and shown on the display.
• You can adjust the volume with the – (14) and + (15) buttons.
• If the complete text is not displayed on one page, you can swipe your finger to the next page
and display another text there.
• You can also enter the foreign language. The translation will then be output in the mother
tongue. To do this, press and hold the foreign language button (4) while entering the
language.
Notes on speaking:
Speak directly into the device (max. 30 cm away). The device has two
microphones (2) (7), which ensure a good recording of the speech.
Always speak at a normal pace and with a clear pronunciation. Do not speak in
a local dialect, as this can lead to translation errors.
Do not interrupt the spoken text and do not speak two sentences in quick succession,
as this can lead to translation errors.
e) Connection for carrying strap
• You can attach a carrying strap (not included) to the eyelet (5) on the lower part of the
product. This can be useful if you are using the product while travelling.
f) Software update
• If there is any change in the configuration and the translation offer, a software update will
be made via the Internet.
• An update can take place, for example, if additional languages are offered. An appropriate
message then appears on the touch display. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete
the update.
Care and cleaning
• Switch off the product and disconnect it from the power supply before cleaning.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the casing or cause the product to malfunction.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
