Warnings
„ Ensure you follow the guidelines below to avoid breakdown, damage or failed operation.
z Do not use in a place where rain could fall or a place with high humidity such as a
bathroom.
z Do not use in a place with sea breezes, such as on the beach.
z Do not use in a place with hydrogen sulphide present, such as a hot springs.
z Do not place close to a source of humidity such as a teapot.
z Do no place close to high temperatures such as a heater.
z Do not drop or subject to impacts.
z Keep the Home IoT Gateway at least 50cm away from the transmitting device during use.
z While the effect of radio transmissions on medical devices is extremely small, for safety,
keep this device at least 20cm away from medical devices.

Cautions in event of a Power Cut

„ This device does not have an internal power source (battery) and will not operate during a
power cut.
„ The device will return to normal operation after a power cut, but this may take around 10
minutes. Wait a moment before attempting operation.
Cautions regarding Security when Using WLAN Products
(Except where used with the WLAN AP Switch (Switch 1) set to ON)
If security settings are not amended when using a WLAN connected product, the following
security issues could ensue.
„ Contents of transmissions could be intercepted
A malicious third party could tap into the radio signal and intercept the contents of
transmissions, such as:
z IDs, passwords, images or email addresses
„ Unauthorised access
A malicious third party could access your local network and take the following actions:
z Take personal or confidential information (data leak)
z Access information without authority by posing as a specific person (imposter)
z Amend and re-transmit intercepted communications (falsification)
z Send a computer virus to damage data or systems (attack)
To reduce the risk of the above security issues, ensure that you follow the manual for the
WLAN product and configure its security settings before using any WLAN product.
Please be aware that Panasonic takes no responsibility of any kind for losses incurred due to
such issues.

Cautions regarding Internet Connections
„ To prevent data handled by the Home IoT Gateway being accessed by a third party over the
internet, ensure that the Gateway is connected via a router when it or any other HEMS device
is connected to the internet.
„ An 'always on' internet service is required to connect the Home IoT Gateway to the internet.
„ The provision of an internet connection is the responsibility of the customer.
