This section provides quick answers to issues that you may encounter with your Sousvant.
Failure Mode Displays
Sousvant closely monitors its own operation while cooking. If it detects a failure of its heating
element, pump or temperature sensors, it will stop the cook cycle, and display a failure message
on the display to alert the operator to the condition. Error displays are shown in Table 1. The failure
code can be cleared by pressing the Stop key.

Water system failure
• Carafe has been removed or is not firmly seated on base
• Carafe contains too little water
• Pump has failed
Possible solution: Lift the carafe full of water off the base, then replace it and rock it slightly to
ensure that the pump has flooded with water. If this problem persists, visit our Support page, at
www.sousvant.com/Support, for help.
Overheat Failure
Possible causes are:
• Pouring very hot water into the carafe
• A failure of the heater control system

Power Failure

Bag Leakage
the cooking water, the following steps should be taken:
• Discontinue operation immediately
• Empty the carafe and wash with warm soapy water as described in the Care and Maintenance
section of this Guide
• Remove and clean the straining screen over the intake valve in the carafe.
• Flush the cooker by filling the carafe with fresh, clean water, placing it on the base and running
the cooker for 10-15 minutes at a setting of 140°F (60°C).
