Operating Instructions
Wireless Chime
Item no. 2188290
Intended use
The product consists of a radio chime with integrated speakers and a radio doorbell button with
sensor surface. If the sensor surface is touched on the wireless doorbell button, it wirelessly
activates a tone on the wireless chime (48 different audio signals/ring tones to choose from).
The playback volume of the audio signal can be adjusted in several steps.
The wireless chime can be powered either by 3 batteries of type AAA/Micro or by a power sup-
ply cord (each available as accessory).
The wireless chime is powered by a 12 V battery (type 23 A; included).
The wireless bell push is protected according to IP44 and can be used in protected outdoor
areas (e.g., under eaves). The wireless chime may be used only in dry, enclosed areas indoors.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting per-
sonal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) General Information
• The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dan-
gerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the
product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician
or an authorised repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Notes on batteries and rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children. Do not
leave the batteries/accumulators lying around. There is a danger that children or
pets may swallow them, danger to life! If they are swallowed, consult a doctor
immediately.
• Make sure that rechargeable batteries are not opened, short-circuited or thrown
into a fire, as there is a risk of explosion.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batter-
ies (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
• Chemical liquid may leak out of spent or overly aged batteries, which may damage
the device. Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries may cause acid
burns when coming into contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves.
• Do not mix batteries with rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charge levels (e.g., full
and half-full batteries/rechargeable batteries).
• Replace the entire set of batteries and never individual cells.
• The wireless chime is intended for use with a 12 V battery, type 23 A.
• The wireless chime is intended for use with 3 AAA/Micro batteries (alternatively,
an external power supply can be used, not included, can be ordered separately).
• The wireless chime can also be used with 3 NiMH batteries AAA/Micro, but for a
shorter period of time only, due to the lower voltage (NiMH battery = 1.2V, AAA
battery = 1.5V).
• For this reason, we recommend that you put in the wireless chime only high-
quality alkaline batteries, not rechargeable batteries, in order to ensure a long
and safe operation.
Inserting/replacing the batteries
a) Wireless chime
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the wireless chime. Insert three "Micro/AAA"
batteries, with the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• Close the battery compartment again.
The batteries need to be changed if the audio signal is barely audible or cannot be
heard at all anymore.
Dispose of the batteries with respect to environmental protection; see chapter "Dis-
posal".
b) Wireless doorbell button
• First, detach the U-shaped wall mounts from the back of the wireless doorbell button. These
are only clipped in place.
• Open the case of the wireless doorbell button, press the lock button at the bottom and care-
fully open the front lid at the top of the wireless doorbell button. Then, finally you can pull off
the front lid. Do not use force.
On the circuit board, turn on the wires that aren't straight, this results in decreasing
the range, or the wireless chime no longer responding to the radio doorbell button.
• During the first use, the 12 V battery (type 23 A) is already inserted in the wireless doorbell
button. A small protective strip between the battery and the contacts prevents premature
discharge of the battery. Peel off the protective strip.
If a battery change is required (e.g., if the operating range becomes reduced, or the
chime no longer responds to the radio doorbell button), replace the old battery with
a new battery of the same type.
Please pay attention to the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-) when insert-
ing the battery. See the label on the board.
Dispose of batteries with respect to environmental protection; see chapter "Dispos-
al".
• Place the front lid of the button back diagonally onto the device and lift it so that it snaps
into place.

Installation

The range between the wireless bell push and the wireless chime is dependent on
the environmental conditions. As a rule, when operated in a single-family home,
faultless operation should be possible. We recommend that you check the function
of the product before the final installation.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cable or pipes are dam-
aged.
a) Wireless chime
• The wireless chime can be hung from a nail, hook or screw, using an opening on the back.
• Alternatively, it can be attached to a small stand. Place the wireless chime on a level, stable,
and sufficiently large area. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat to
prevent scratches.
Be careful not to let the wireless chime get damp or wet. Only operate the product in
dry, enclosed indoor rooms.
