3. Keep cord straight while clipping. If cord becomes kinked
or tangled, stop clipping and straighten it.
4. Do not wrap cord around the clipper when storing.
This can damage the cord insulation.
5. Always take care not to tangle the cord while using or storing the clipper.
6. We recommend storing the clipper and cord in the original carton when
not in use.

Removing or Replacing Blades
TO REMOVE:
IMPORTANT! STOP MOTOR; Push latch in
and lift blade away from clipper and slide
off tongue.
TO REPLACE:
Turn motor on; insert blade on tongue fully
then snap blade into place.
Blade Sharpening
Oster ® cutting blades are of individual hollow-ground design, hardened to
extend cutting life. As with any cutting instrument, the cutting edges will
become dull with usage. Increasing blade tension to force dull blades to cut
can cause the clipper to heat and reduce motor life, and further shorten blade
life. When the cutting blades no longer cut smooth and clean, sharpening is
necessary.
When sharpening blades becomes necessary, send blades to an Authorized
Service Center where approved methods, equipment and proper knowledge
are used to restore the original hollow-ground design and best cutting ability.
Sharpening blades by flat grinding or any method contrary to the design and
construction of Oster ® cutting blades is not recommended.
Lubricating the Blades
A light film of oil should be maintained on the surface of the cutting blades. Oiling
blades frequently while in use will help keep the blades cleaner. Clean
the
blades cut better. To clean blades, dip the teeth into Oster ® Blade Wash
cleaner with the clipper running. DO NOT IMMERSE THE CLIPPER. Remove
from the mixture and, while holding the clipper with the blade end down, wipe
the blades dry with a clean, dry cloth. Re-oil blades.
Maintenance and Storage
NOTE: Any other maintenance not explained in this manual should be per-
formed by an Authorized Service Center. To store unit, coil and secure cord
and place in original carton.
When using or cleaning this clipper, do not use any aerosol
sprays or blade washes, especially those containing methylene
chloride, dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, or 1-1-1
trichloroethylene. Damage caused by these chemicals will void
your warranty. You may use Oster
®
Lube and Oster 5 in 1 Clipper Blade Care which do not harm
the product.
Disposal in E.U. countries
Do not dispose of the appliance with domestic refuse. As part of the
E.U. Directive governing the disposal of electric and electronic
appliances, the appliance is accepted free of charge by local waste
collection points or recycling centers. Correct disposal will ensure
environment protection and prevent a potential harmful impact on
people and the environment.
Disposal in non-E.U. countries
Please dispose of the appliance at the end of service life in an environmentally
friendly manner.
