Abridged Instructions for
Zeus CLIC Adapter
These Abridged Instructions are a supplement to the
Instructions for Use for the Zeus SW 3.n Anaesthesia
Workstation System
Follow the Instructions for Use for the Zeus SW 3.n
Anaesthesia Workstation System.
Follow the Instructions for Use for the disposable absorber
(Drägersorb CLIC 800 Plus or Drägersorb CLIC Free).

Intended Use

The Zeus CLIC Adapter facilitates use of the disposable
absorber Drägersorb CLIC 800 Plus or
Drägersorb CLIC Free.

Preparation
When present, turn the absorber anticlockwise and
remove downwards.
Fit the Zeus CLIC Adapter
Insert the new IBF Absorber Filter in the Zeus CLIC Adapter
from above using the recessed handles.
Attach the Zeus CLIC Adapter to the breathing system
from below and turn it clockwise as far as it will go.
Make sure that the release button and the sight glass are
facing forwards and visible to the user.
Carry out the leak test and self test with the disposable
absorber engaged – see Zeus Instructions for Use.
Caution!
When operating the unit without the CO
(instrument switched off or sample line blocked) adjust the
fresh-gas flow larger minute volume so as to prevent the
inspiratory CO
concentration from increasing.

Changing disposable absorbers during operation
Proceed according to the User Instructions of the
disposable absorber being used.
Caution!
No CO
is absorbed during the changeover. Monitor the

inspiratory CO
and, if necessary, adjust the fresh-gas flow
2
to greater than the minute volume so as to prevent the
inspiratory CO
concentration from increasing.

After changing the absorber, check to make sure that the
2
breathing system is positioned horizontally on the support
in order to prevent any loss of gas.
Service
Caution!
If used without an IBF Absorber Filter, contamination of the
turbine cannot be ruled out.
Disassembling the adapter
The adapter is disassembled by following the steps for
assembling it in reverse order.
Change the IBF Absorber Filter after 20 operations or after
20 hours, whichever comes first.
