Preparations

Before trying to record, check that all the
connllcticms are correct - see page
5.
Reter
to the
Bias/EQ Tape
Chart on page
18 and set correct I y to get the utmost
recording quality. When you have confirmed
that all the connections and switch settings
are all right. you • re ready to record.
Recording

Press the POWER switch 0 N (

switch on the deck.

the tape counter

"0000".
Q Set the tape speed to HIGH ( 0) or
LOW(=l.

Set the TAPE SELECTOR switches to
the position according to the type of
tape
used.

Set MONITOR switch to SOURCE

Apply recording sourca sound connected
to the LINE IN terminals on tho rear
panel or microphones connected to the

• LINE Controls: Gradually turn up the
LINE level controls until the strong·
est signal is slightly over the 0 V U
level on the VU meters.
• MIG Controls: Use one microphone for
mono recording and two microphones

with your receiver

amplifier.
To record
from a
microphone or line in-
dividual!y, tum up either volume control
and turn the other to MIN. When you want
to stop momentarily while racording, use
the PAUSE button_ A convenient way to
start recording is to set the PAUSE button
first then press the play

and RECORD
buttons simultaneously.
After adjusting the MIG or LINE input con-
trols,
press again to release
the
PAUSE
but-
ton to start recording.
While recording FM broadcasts, clear blank
spaces are easily made, to cut-out commer-
cials for instance. See page
