l A UTOMATIC FILL-STOP FUNCTION
The rain filter is used for the automatic filling of rain barrels, tanks or barrels. If the automatic
fill-stop function is to be used, the appropriate installation height must be observed. The lower
support edge of the sieve element must be approx. 4 cm below the edge of the rain barrel. The
tank is filled up to this height without overflowing.
l H OSE CONNECTION
A reducer from the HT50 pipe to the 5/4" hose is available to match the rain filter. The reducer
can also be used as a wall feed-through for rain barrels.
l C ONNECTION SECURITY
If the installation conditions are suitable, the HT50 pipe must be secured against detachment
from the filter socket using commercially available wall clamps.
l I NSTALLATION PLACE
The rain filter is also conditionally suitable for installation inside buildings. The instructions for
installation as well as for maintenance and service must be strictly observed. In particular, the
rubber seal of the window must be regularly maintained.

l S elect installation height. When
using the automatic fill-stop
system, mark the height of the
rain bins using a spirit level
on the downpipe. Offset 9
cm upwards and downwards
from this mark, add further
markings. Use the installation
instructions as a marking aid
(see Fig. 1/2).
l Cut through the downpipe at
the lower and upper markings
and remove the separated
section. (see Fig. 2/3).
l Loosen existing pipe clamps if
necessary (see Fig. 4).
l I nsert the filter.
Select the reduction according
to the pipe width. Use a knife
to cut out the reductions which
are not required at the lower
connection of the rain filter.
When connecting to down
pipes with an inner diameter
of 100-105 mm, shorten the longer webs on the outer connection piece (see lower connection on
the filter) to the appropriate dimension. The reductions on the upper reducing ring which are not
required are also removed.
l I f necessary, place rubber seals on the edge of the downpipe or the filter connections (treat with
lubricant if necessary).
l B end the upper section of the downpipe to the side.
l Remove the strainer element from the Streif filter!
l I nsert the filter as shown in Figs. 3 and 4 and check that it is firmly seated.
l I nsert the strainer element.
l F asten the pipe clamp.
l In order to ensure a permanent tightness of the window on the housing, it is advantageous to apply
a sponge rubber care product (e.g. acid-free grease) to the sealing surfaces of the window and the
housing. After closing the window, the excess care product must be removed.
l It is imperative that the connection to the rain collector is made immediately.
l T he rain filter can be installed both vertically and at an angle. In every case of installation, the
downpipe must be aligned in such a way that the rainwater flows through the entire filter surface. If
the distance between filter and gutter is less than 1 m, we recommend the use of a 0.2 mm sieve.
This is available as a spare part.
