Possible causes of malfunction

Malfunctions may be avoided with careful planning of the ventilation system and complying with the assembly instruc-
tions. However, should there be malfunctions, please check the following table to find remedy for possible causes.
Possible malfunctions
Single fan provides inefficient air
performance
Toilet bowl connection does not
convey or conveys too little
Strong booming noises in the
ceiling, respectively, in the shaft
Air check valve rattles in high
winds
Odors from other ventilation
devices
Fan runs at very high speed and
therefore is very noisy
Reason for malfunction
Riser pipe is too small.
Piping between individual fan
and riser is too small and/or has
too many arcs.
Filter is too dirty.
Piping routed through construc-
tion residues.
No sufficient air intake.
Piping of toilet to single fan
has been moved.
Piping of toilet for single fan is
too small.
Resonance of the air space
within the intermediate ceiling,
respectively, the shaft.
Roof cap is not aligned in the
wind direction.
Negative pressure in the riser
is too high due to wind.
Air check valve is not installed
correctly.
Air check valve is dirty.
Air check valve does not close
completely due to low spring
pressure.
Exhaust pipe has been moved.
Filter is too dirty.

Remedy
Recalculation of the riser and enlargement to the
correct size.
Enlargement of the connection line, installing the
connection line in a straight manner, possibly red-
ucing the number of arcs. Try to adjust the existing
air flow control at the ventilation device.
Remove cover. Clean the filter, respectively
replace with a new filter.
Clean the piping.
Shorten door leaf or ensure air supply intake
through other intake openings.
Clean the piping.
Enlarge piping to Ø 40 mm respectively Ø 50 mm
and only reduce to Ø 30 mm right before the toilet
bowl. Should this not be possible, reduce the outer
intake surface of the single fan with paper or foil
(always underneath the filter).
Attach the housing firmly to the raw ceiling or
the exterior masonry of the shaft. Insert or lather
insulating material between the raw ceiling, respec-
tively, the exterior masonry, and the back of the fan.
Align roof cap in the main wind direction.
Remove and place valve return spring to the air
check valve. (page 5 – fig. 9).
Insert air check valve properly.
Remove and clean air check valve.
Remove and place valve return spring to the air
check valve. (page 5 – fig. 9).
Check exhaust duct for constrictions and clean
if necessary.
Remove cover. Clean the filter, respectively,
replace with a new filter.
