    D  mode up/down pause E  speed up/down reset 5. Hardware setup  Refer to the illustrations on page 3 of this manual.  • Install the system and make all necessary connections before applying  power. Make sure to connect matching wire colours. Do not short‐circuit  any wires. Comply with the technical specifications (§8).  Note: power supply, LED strip (CHLS16RGBW) and connection tools not  included.  DMX 512  • When using an external DMX controller (not included), connect its output  to the data input [2] of the CHLS16C. Use the included cable.  • Multiple CHLS16C’s can be linked through serial linking. Connect the data  output [1] to the next DMX controlled device.  • A DMX terminator is recommended for installations where the DMX cable  has to run a long distance or is in an electrically noisy environment (e.g.  discos). The terminator prevents corruption of the digital control signal by  electrical noise. The DMX terminator is simply an XLR plug with a 120Ω  resistor between pins 2 and 3, which is then plugged into the XLR output  socket [1] of the last device in the chain.  • All DMX‐controlled devices need a digital start address so that the correct  device responds to the signals. This digital start address is the channel  number from which the device starts to “listen” to the DMX controller. The  same starting address can be used for a whole group of devices or an  individual address can be set for every device.  • When all devices have the same address, all the units will “listen” to the  control signal on one particular channel. In other words: changing the  settings of one channel will affect all devices simultaneously. If you set ...

        CHLS16C     question.  • In case of the 4‐channel CHLS16C, you will have to set the start address of  the first unit to 1 (CH1~4), the second unit to 5 (1 + 4) (CH5~9), the third to  9 (5+4) (CH10~14), and so on.  Note: CH1 = red, CH2 = green, CH3 = blue, CH4 = white  • Set switch number 10 of the DIP switch [10] to ON (up) to select DMX512  mode.  • Set the start address on the other nine DIP switches [10].  switch  value  128 256 e.g.   = start address 5  6. Operation  • Make sure all connections are properly made and switch on the power.  • When using DMX control, make sure the first switches of the DIP switch  [10] are set to the correct DMX address and the last switch is set to ON. No  further user intervention is required.  • When using the controller stand‐alone, make sure the last switch of the  DIP switch [10] is set to OFF. The rest of the switches have no meaning.  • Aim the remote control IR LED [A] towards the IR LED [3].  • Press the ON button [B] to switch the LED strip on.  • Press the pre‐programmed buttons [G] multiple times to scroll through the  desired effect (see table below).   1. red / 2. red+white / 3. gradual change red~white / 4. flash change ...

Opstelling van de hardware  Raadpleeg de afbeeldingen op pagina 3 van deze handleiding.  • Installeer het systeem en sluit alle bekabeling correct aan. Sluit tot slot de  voeding aan. aan alvorens de voeding aan te sluiten. U mag de kabels niet  kortsluiten. Leef de technische specificaties na (§8).  Opmerking: voeding, ledstrip (CHLS16RGBW) en aansluitaccessoires zijn  niet meegeleverd.  DMX512  • Sluit de uitgang van de externe DMX‐controller (niet meegeleverd) aan op  de data‐ingang [2] van de CHLS16C met behulp van de meegeleverde  kabel.  • U kunt verscheidene CHLS16C’s aan elkaar koppelen met behulp van een  seriële koppeling. Sluit de data‐uitgang [2] aan op het volgende DMX‐ toestel.  • Een DMX eindweerstand is aanbevolen als de DMX‐kabel vrij lang is of  wordt gebruikt in een omgeving met veel elektrische ruis (bv. een  discotheek). De eindweerstand voorkomt corruptie van het digitale  controlesignaal door elektrische ruis. De DMX eindweerstand is niets meer  dan een XLR‐stekker met een weerstand van 120 Ω van pin 2 naar 3. Deze  XLR‐stekker wordt dan aangesloten op de XLR‐uitgang [1] van het laatste  toestel in de reeks.  • Alle DMX‐gestuurde toestellen hebben een digitaal startadres nodig, zodat  het juiste toestel reageert op de signalen. Dit digitale startadres is het  kanaalnummer van waarop het toestel ‘luistert’ naar het signaal van de  DMX‐controller. U kunt één enkel startadres gebruiken voor een groep  toestellen of u kunt per toestel een nieuw startadres ingeven.  • Wanneer u één enkel startadres instelt, zullen alle toestellen ‘luisteren’ ...

Installation  Se référer aux illustrations en page 3.  • Installer le système et effectuer toutes les connexions avant le  branchement de la tension d’alimentation. Ne pas court‐circuiter les  câbles. Respecter les spécifications techniques (§8).  Remarque : L’alimentation, le ruban LED (CHLS16RGBW) et la connectique  ne sont pas inclus.  DMX 512  • Connecter la sortie du contrôleur DMX externe à l’entrée de données [2]  du CHLS16C. Utiliser le câble inclus.  • Il est possible de relier plusieurs CHLS16C à partir d’une connexion sérielle.  Connecter la sortie des données [1] à l’appareil DMX suivant.  • Une résistance de terminaison DMX est à recommander si le câble DMX  doit couvrir une grande distance ou s’il est utilisé dans un environnement  avec beaucoup de bruit électrique (p.ex. une discothèque). La résistance de  terminaison prévient la corruption du signal de contrôle numérique par le  bruit électrique. La résistance de terminaison DMX n’est rien d’autre  qu’une fiche XLR avec une résistance de 120 Ω de broche 2 vers broche 3  (voir illustration à gauche). Cette fiche XLR est connectée à la sortie XLR [1]  du dernier appareil de la série.  • Tous les appareils pilotés par un signal DMX demandent une adresse de  départ DMX pour assurer que les appareils corrects réagissent sur les  signaux de contrôle. Cette adresse de départ numérique indique le numéro  de canal sur lequel l’appareil écoute le contrôleur DMX. Vous avez le choix  entre une seule adresse de départ pour toute une série d’appareils ou une ...

Installation  Siehe Abbildungen, Seite 3 dieser Bedienungsanleitung.  • Installieren Sie das System und schließen Sie zuerst alle Kabel korrekt an  ehe Sie das Gerät mit dem Netz verbinden. Beachten Sie, dass Sie die Kabel  nicht kurzschließen. Beachten Sie die technische Daten (§8).  Bemerkung: Netzteil, LED‐Leiste (CHLS16RGBW) und Verbindungszubehör  sind nicht mitgeliefert.  DMX512  • Verbinden Sie den Ausgang des externen DMX‐Controllers (nicht  mitgeliefert) über das mitgelieferte Kabel mit dem Data‐Eingang [2] des  CHLS16C.  • Sie können verschiedene CHLS16C über eine Kupplung in Serie verbinden.  Verbinden Sie den Data‐Ausgang [2] mit dem nächsten DMX‐Gerät.  • Ein DMX‐Abschlusswiderstand empfehlenswert für Installationen, bei  denen das DMX‐Kabel lang ist oder in einer Umgebung mit vielem  elektrischem Rauschen (z.B. Diskos) . Der Abschlusswiderstand verhindert  Störung des digitalen Steuersignals durch elektrisches Rauschen.  Der DMX‐ Abschlusswiderstand ist nur eine XLR‐Buchse mit einem 120Ω Widerstand  zwischen 2 und 3, die den XLR‐Ausgang [1] des letzten Geräts in der Kette  angeschlossen wird.  • Jedes Gerät muss eine separate DMX‐Startadresse haben wenn ein DMX‐ Signal verwendet wird, damit das richtige Gerät auf die richtigen  Kontrollesignale reagiert. Die digitale Startadresse ist der erste Kanal, auf  den der Projektor auf Signale vom DMX‐Controller reagiert. Sie können  mehrere Geräte auf eine einzelne Startadresse definieren oder Sie können  pro Gerät eine neue Startadresse eingeben. ...
