While the R-1 is stopped, press the MENU button. You will enter Setup mode.

Turn the VALUE dial to select an item from the setup menu, and then press the
ENTER button.
* If you decide not to continue, you can press the EXIT button or MENU button to leave
Setup mode.

Now you can specify the value. Turn the VALUE dial to specify the desired value,
and then press the ENTER button.
* If you press the EXIT button, you will return to the setup item selection in step 2. If you
press the MENU button, you will exit Setup mode.
If you press either of these buttons, the value you specified in step 3 will be ignored.

The opening screen of Setup mode is displayed. If you want to choose another
setup menu item, use the VALUE dial to select an item from the menu (return to
step 2).

If you're finished with Setup mode, press the EXIT button or MENU button.
If you want to continue making changes in Setup mode, press the ENTER button.
You will return to step 3.
If you want to choose another menu item, turn the VALUE dial to select it (instead
of pressing the ENTER button). Make the desired settings for each menu item as
described in "System settings (Setup mode)" (p. 54).
