INSTALLATION

WARNING
For safe and proper operation, the unit must be located
a reasonable distance from combustible walls and
materials.
If
safe
distances
discoloration or combustion could occur.
CAUTION
To avoid any injury or damage locate the unit at the proper
counter height, in an area that is convenient for use. The
location should be level to prevent the shelf or its contents
from accidentally falling, and strong enough to support
the weight of the unit and food.
CAUTION
The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) requires that
GRS Series units over 914 mm (36") in length or weighing
more than 36 kg (80 lbs.) to be either sealed or raised
on the installation surface. If this unit cannot be sealed
at the point of use, 102 mm (4") legs are included to allow
for proper cleaning access below unit. See Hatco
ACCESSORIES for installation instructions.
WARNING
To avoid any injury or damage to the unit do not pull unit
by power cord.
WARNING
To prevent any injury, discontinue use if power cord is
frayed or worn.

NOTICE
Damage to non-metallic countertop material caused by
heat generated from Hatco equipment is not covered
under the Hatco warranty. Recommended for use in
metallic ounters. For other surfaces, verify that the
material is suitable for temperature up to 82°C (180°F).
3. Prepare countertop opening. (See Figure
recommended countertop cutout dimensions.)
4. Apply a bead of NSF (National Sanitation Foundation)
approved sealant between the countertop material and
mounting flange.
5. Place the unit into the countertop opening.
6. Assemble the Z-brackets to the underside of the unit using
the four screws removed in step 2.
NOTE: Units 1219 mm (48") or longer require two additional Z-
brackets installed midway along the front and rear of the unit.
7. Adjust the 1/4-20 screws on the Z-brackets until the top
flange lies flat on the countertop.
8. Remove any excess sealant.
NOTICE
Use of excessive force when tightening mounting screws
may damage unit or countertop (GRSB and GRSBF units).
9. If you wish to move the control box to a semi-remote
location, remove it from the bottom of the unit. If necessary,
remove the end brackets from the control box, rotate and
reposition them. The control box will require a hole
mounting pattern of 194 mm x 32 mm (7-5/8" x 1-1/4") for
#8 screws. See Figure 9 for mounting distances.
10. Once all components are secured, the unit may be plugged
in and turned on.
NOTE: A 1829 mm (6') cord is supplied with this appliance; any
excess cord should be neatly routed so it does not hang down.
