    3.2 Overview The HB389 kit has two working modes as summarised in the following table. The unit has a selector switch on the top. This can be set to positions ‘A’ or ‘B’. Select position A for the high return flow mode.

    With reference to Common Rail pump testing the graph in Figure 3.2 below shows the coverage of the AVM2 Metering Unit and the extended coverage of the HB389 Flowmeter. It also shows the maximum outputs of various existing Common Rail pumps. There is some overlap between the two measurement systems.

Maintenance 4.1 Regular maintenance The HB389 AVM2-PC High Capacity Flowmeter does not require any regular maintenance procedures. 4.2 Troubleshooting SWITCH OFF AND REMOVE POWER CABLE BEFORE OPENING THE UNIT. ONLY QUALIFED SERVICE PERSONNEL SHOULD ATTEMPT DIAGNOSTICS WITH POWER APPLIED.

    NOTE: The overpressure message is triggered by getting flow readings from both the HB389 unit and the AVM2 internal return flowmeter. To avoid this message being triggered in error the pump return flow should always be connected through the HB389 unit (as described in Section 2.2) rather than directly onto the AVM2 bulkhead connection.
