SILVA POWER TRAIL AND INTELLIGENT LIGHT
Thank you for choosing a Silva Power Trail headlamp. This headlamp can,
thanks to the modular design, also be used on a helmet or a bike handle bar.
The Power Trail headlamp is equipped with Intelligent Light
light distribution technology that combines a wide angle flood light with a
long reach spot light. This unique light image gives the user peripheral and
long distance vision at the same time. For a runner, cross country skier,
mountain biker or night orienteer this translates into less head movement,
increased control, better balance and more speed.

BEFORE USE

BATTERY CHARGING
The battery needs to be charged before first use.
1. Connect the battery to the charger.
2. Connect the charger to the wall outlet.
3. On the battery there is an LED showing the battery status during charging:
• green light = battery is fully charged
• red light = battery is charging
• blinking red light = battery is not working properly
Battery charging time is approximate 10 hours.
Note! When the battery is fully charged the charger automatically switches
to maintenance mode.
Power Trail headlamp is compatible with all Silva batteries with the same
connector as on Power Trail battery. Note that the battery indication may not
be accurate with other Silva batteries.
SILVA POWER TRAIL – THE FLEXIBLE, MODULAR HEADLAMP
The Power Trail headlamp is designed for Multi-Activity Sports. Here is a
description of the different options:
Ergonomic Head set
The head set is ergonomically shaped to give a comfortable fit. Use the 3
buckle adjustments to fit it perfectly to your head.
Attach the headlamp to the head bracket by simply sliding the headlamp
foot into the snap-in socket.
To remove, press the push button on the bracket and move the headlamp up
and out.
Bike handle bar attachment
The bike handle bar attachment is developed for use on bike handlebars with
a dimension between 22 mm and 32 mm. The bike bracket is attached to the
handle bar simply by wrapping the rubber strap around the handlebar and
fastening it on the plastic hook.
Attach the headlamp in the bike handle bar attachment by simply sliding
the headlamp bracket into the snap-in socket.
To remove, press the push button on the bracket and move the headlamp up
and out.
Helmet attachment
The helmet attachment comes with pre mounted adhesive tape on the back
for easy mounting on any helmet.
To mount the helmet attachment, remove the protective film covering the
adhesive tape. Make sure the surface of the helmet is clean and dry. Press
the bracket onto its correct position.
If you do not want to use the adhesive on your helmet the attachment is
prepared for mounting with 2 straps on the sides. (Not included)
Attach the headlamp in the helmet attachment by simply sliding the head-
lamp bracket into the snap-in socket.
To remove, press the push button on the socket and move the headlamp up
and out.
FLEXIBLE BATTERY CARRYING
The Power Trail headlamp is designed so that the battery can be carried
in multiple ways; for example in a battery carrier on your back, on the bike
frame, on your belt or backpack etc. The carrier can also be fastened to the
charger while charging.

DURING USE

SWITCH ON YOUR HEADLAMP
On top of the headlamp body there is a push button which controls all 4 light
modes.
Each press on the button gives you the following light:
1. Turns the headlamp ON with all LED:s in maximum power.
2. All LED:s in power save mode
3. Flood light LEDs in power save
4. Starts over from 1

To turn OFF the headlamp; press and hold the button for 1 second.

The flash function, which is used to attract attention, is started from OFF
which is a mode by pressing and holding the button for 1 second. To turn OFF; press and

hold the button for 1 second.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Note that the headlamp body temperature will increase during use. The
headlamp temperature is depending on light mode, ambient air tempera-
ture and the airflow (speed). The Power Trail headlamp is equipped with a
temperature control unit that prevents the headlamp body from overheating
by reducing the power to the LEDs.
Note! Always make sure to disconnect the battery when the headlamp is
stored in a closed compartment such as in a bag, pocket or similar.
LOW BATTERY WARNING
During operation of the headlamp there will be a low battery warning when
25% of the battery time remains. This is done by flashing LEDs for 1 second
and repeated again after 5 seconds.
RESERVE MODE
During operation the lamp will go into reserve mode when there is 15% power
left of the battery. Reserve mode means less light than in power save mode
but enough light to see the path in front of you. All LEDs will flash once before
the lamp goes into this mode. From this point only reserve mode and flash
mode is available to prevent the user from being left with no light in the dark.

AFTER USE

MAINTENANCE
To make sure you get maximum performance from your Power Trail head-
lamp, clean it regularly with a damp cloth.
Head set cleaning – rinse in warm water.

ABOUT LI-ION BATTERIES
The battery should be stored in a dry environment within the temperature
range of -20°C and +35°C.
If you would like to store your battery for a longer period (more than 30 days)
the battery should not be fully charged. This may cause loss of its characte-
ristics.
Li-Ion batteries has a discharge rate of approx. 20% over a 30 day period. You
can always charge a half full battery without damaging its characteristics.
Do not expose the battery for extreme temperatures which may cause fire or
explosion.
Do not disassemble or mistreat the battery; risk for chemical burn.
Keep away from children.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire. This may cause an explosion.
Do not submerge the batteries in water.
Do not short circuit the contacts.
Replace only with Silva Sprint or Alpha batteries.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.
Headlamp and batteries should be recycled and must not be thrown in the
regular trash. Dispose these items in accordance with applicable local
regulations.
WARRANTY
Silva warrants that, for a period of two (2) years, your Silva Product will be
substantially free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal
use. Silva's liability under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing
the product. This limited warranty extends only to the original purchaser.
If the Product proves defective during the Warranty Period please contact
the original place of purchase. Make sure to have your proof of purchase
on hand when returning the product. Returns cannot be processed without
the original proof of purchase. This warranty does not apply if the Product
has been altered, not been installed, operated, repaired, or maintained in
accordance with instructions supplied by Silva, or has been subjected to ab-
normal physical or electrical stress, misuse, negligence or accident. Neither
does the warranty cover normal wear and tear. Silva is not responsible for
any consequences, direct or indirect, or damage resultant from use of this
product. In no event will Silva's liability exceed the amount paid by you for
the product. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion
may not apply to you. This Warranty is valid and may be processed only in the
country of purchase.
