Spostare ii piedino per cerniera fino
all'arresto a sinistra. Stirare
bordi
dell'apertura. Porre a cerniera chiusa
sotto ii bordo stirato a destra e imbastire
in maniera che i dentini della cerniera
siano ancora visibili. Fissare a patella
preparata S con degli spilli e cucirla
insieme alla cerniera. I dentini della
cerniera scorrono lungo a guida destra
(fig. P). Poco prima del termine della
cucitura fermarsi con 'ago nella stoffa.
Alzare ii piedino, aprire a cerniera.
Abbassare ii piedino e terminare Ia
cucitura. Chiudere Ia cerniera. Fissare ii
bordo sporgente dell'apertura con degli
spilli in direzione della cucitura.
lmbastire Ia parte sinistra della cerniera
(fig. 0).
Aprire a cerniera. Applicare ii lineale di
guida e tissarlo in maniera che scorra
lungo ii bordo della stoffa (fig. R). Poco
prima del termine della cucitura fermarsi
con l'ago nella stoffa. Alzare il piedino,
chiudere a cerniera. Abbassare ii piedi
no e terminare a cucitura.
Fermare ii termine della cucitura con
una travetta.
Zippers in ladies' slacks

Move the zipper foot to the left as far as
it will go. Press the edges of the placket.
Baste the closed zip to the right edge of
the placket on the wrong side so that its
teeth are still visible. Pin facing strip S
to the underside and stitch it down at
the same time as you sew the zip. The
zip teeth run along the right guiding
edge of the foot (Fig. P). Shortly before
the end of the seam leave the needle
down in the fabric, raise the zipper foot,
open the zip, lower the zipper foot again
and finish sewing the seam. Close the
zip.
Pin the overlapping edge along the
intended seam line. Baste left zip edge
(Fig. Q).
Open zip. Attach the edge guide and
position it for the desired seam margin
so that it moves along the edge of the
fabric (Fig. R). Shortly before the end of
the seam leave the needle down in the
fabric, raise the zipper foot and close the
zip. Lower the zipper foot and finish
sewing the seam. Secure the end of the
zip seam with a bartack.
