The refractometer measures the frost resistance of water propylene
glycol, water ethylene glycol mixes and the density of water batter acid
mixes.
Measuring range:
Propylene glycol 0 to - 50°C
Ethylene glycol
0 to - 50°C
Battery acid
1.15 - 1.30 g/cm³
Anti-freeze
0 to - 50°C
The measurement is mostly temperature-independent. However, the
most accurate results are obtained at a medium temperature of 20°C.
Practical application:
Put 1-2 drops of the liquid on the prism surface (A), close the lid and press
it slightly onto the surface. Point the end of the refractometer towards
the light and turn the ocular until the lines are clearly visible.
