MSA Multi-Use Charger Operating Instructions
Multi-Use Charger and Accessories
Fig. 1
The Multi-Use Charger is designed to independently charge up to two Evolution 6000 series TIC Li-Ion battery packs at the
same time. It is designed for desk-top use or for use when placed in a typical vehicle cup holder. The charger may be powered
by the universal AC power supply or the 12 VDC automotive power cord (both are supplied with the charger kit).
Use only recommended power supply and adaptor cable. Use of other wall adaptors or cables may damage the charger and
battery pack.
For Desktop Use
Insert the wall-mounted power supply into a suitable power outlet.
Plug the power supply output cable into the Multi-Use charger receptical.
Slide the Multi-Use charger outer ring down to provide stability on a desk or similar surface.
For Vehicle Cup Holder Use
Insert the automotive power cord into a suitable 12 VDC accessory plug.
Plug the power cord into the Multi-Use charger receptical.
Slide the Multi-Use charger outer ring up the charger base to allow the charger to rest in the cup holder.
Charger Operation
Orient and insert a battery into the charger so battery contacts are facing downward and toward the center of the charger. The
battery and charger system are designed so the battery can only be inserted in the correct way. Each charging bay has its
own charge indicator LED (see Figure 2).

*NOTE: If a charging fault is indicated, ensure that battery pack is within its acceptable charging temperature range [between -
5°C (23°F) and +45°C (113°F)]. If the pack is outside the acceptable temperature range, allow pack to warm or cool as
appropriate. If the pack is within the acceptable temperature range and a charging fault is indicated, it may be necessary to
remove the pack from the charger and re-insert it into the charger to clear the fault.
