machine to the required position and tighten the knurled
nut 10 again. The auxiliary handle 4 can be mounted to a
different position. For this, completely unscrew the knurled
nut 10 and then pull out the hexagon bolt upward. Pull
off the auxiliary handle 4 to the side and turn around the
remaining clamping element by 180°. Mount the auxiliary
handle 4 in reverse order.
2. Changing the Tool
WARNING! Before any work on the machine itself,
pull the mains plug.
With the SDS-max tool holder, simpler and easier tool
changing is possible without additional aids.
The dust protection cap 1 largely prevents the entry
of drilling dust into the tool holder during operation. When
inserting the tool, take care that the dust protection cap 1 is
not damaged.
A damaged dust protection cap should be changed
immediately. We recommend having this carried out by an
after-sales service.
Inserting
Clean and lightly grease the shank end of the tool.
Insert the tool in a twisting manner into the tool holder until
it latches itself. Check the loatching by pulling the tool.
Removing
Push back the locking sleeve 2 and remove the tool.
START UP
Switching On and Off
Mod. Н18/1500 EV
To start the tool, firstly, push the On/Off switch to the
direction shown by the arrow "1" on the switch. Then push
the On/Off switch to the direction shown by the arrow "2" on
the switch. To stop the tool, push the On/Off switch to the
direction shown by the arrow "2" on the switch.
Mod. Н10,5/1200 EV
To start the tool, push the On/Off switch to the "ON
(I)" position. To stop the tool, push the On/Off switch to the
"OFF (O)" position.
Setting the Impact Rate
The electronic control enables speed preselection in
accordance with the material to be worked. The constant
electronic control keeps the preselected impact rate nearly
constant between no-load and load conditions. Select
the impact rate with the thumbwheel 8 according to the
material. Refer to the table below for the relationship
between the number settings on the adjusting dial and the
blows per minute.

the chisel adjustment ring 3 and turn the chisel until it
latches.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Turn the tool on and apply slight pressure on the tool so
that the tool will not bounce around, uncontrolled. Pressing
very hard on the tool will not increase the efficiency.
For low temperatures, the machine reaches the full
impact rate only after a certain time. This start-up time can
be shortened by striking the chisel in the machine against
the floor one time.
Sharpening Chisels
Good results are only achieved with sharp chisels;
therefore, sharpen the chiselling tools in good time. This
ensures a long service life of the tools and good working
performance.

NOISE AND VIBRATION

Hammers have mounted in the principal hand grip 7
damper 5 that reduses occuring vibrations.
This tool has been designed and made to reduce
noise to a minimum. However, in spite of this, in certain
circumstances the maximum noise level in the place
of work could exceed 85 dBA. In this case, the operator
should wear ear protection.
Use ear protection!
WARNING! The vibration level given in these
instructions has been measured in accordance with
a standardized measurement procedure specified in
EN60745 and can be used to compare devices. Different
uses of the device give rise to different vibration levels and
in many cases they may exceed the values given in these
instructions. It is easy to underestimate the vibration load
if the electrical power tool is used regularly in particular
circumstances.
Note. If you wish to make an accurate assessment of
the vibration loads experienced during a particular period of
working , you should also take into account the intervening
periods of time when the device is switched off or is running
but is not actually in use. This can result in a much lower
vibration load over the whole of the period of working.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

WARNING! Before any work on the machine itself,
pull the mains plug.
When you notice a decrease in hammer output, take
the machine to an Official Service Centre.
A damaged dust protection cap should be changed
immediately. We recommend having this carried out by an
after-sales service.
Tool inspection: Using a worn tool will reduce the
efficiency of the work being performed and could lead to
motor damage and the tools should be changed when any
abrasion is noted. Daily: Clean the tool holder.
Inspect the mounting screws: Regularly inspect all
the mounting screws and ensure they are firmly tightened.
Should any screw be loose, tighten it immediately. Failure
to do so could put you at serious risk.
Motor maintenance: Take the utmost care to ensure
that the motor winding is not damaged and does not
