an explosive nature. When using power tools, avoid contact with any
earthed items such as pipes, radiators, cookers, refrigerators, metal
baths and taps
Protect yourself from vibration
• Hand-held power tools may produce vibration. Vibration can cause
disease. Gloves may help to maintain good blood circulation in the
fingers. Hand-held tools should not be used for long periods without a
break
Maintain your power tool
• Ensure all ventilation holes are kept clear at all times, otherwise
overheating and fire may occur
Always disconnect
• Before changing fittings or accessories, always disconnect the tool from
the power source
Switch off before connecting
• Ensure the power tool is switched off before connecting to the power
source. If the power tool stops unexpectedly, turn the power switch to
OFF
Do not abuse the power cable
• Be sure the cable / extension cable is in good condition. Always have
a damaged cable / extension cable replaced at an authorised service
centre before using. Never pull the cable to disconnect it from the power
socket. Never carry the tool by its cable. Keep the cable away from damp,
heat, oil, solvents, and sharp edges
Do not modify the power tool
• Do not modify the power tool in any way as this could result in serious
injury and may invalidate its guarantee
Do not leave the tool running unattended
• Always wait until the tool has completely stopped functioning and has
been unplugged before leaving it unattended
Use the battery charger correctly
• Refer to the section of this manual relating to use of the battery charger
before attempting to charge the battery
• Do not attempt to use the charger with any batteries other than those
supplied. Keep the battery charger clean; foreign objects or dirt may
cause a short or block air vents. Failure to follow these instructions may
cause overheating or fire
Use batteries correctly
• Only charge batteries using the charger provided. Only use batteries
provided with this power tool, or others recommended by the supplier.

batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or heavy use. Failure to
follow these instructions may cause overheating or fire
• When not in use, batteries should be stored in a dry place, near to room
temperature (20˚C). Ensure that batteries cannot accidentally short in
storage
Jump Starter Safety
• Do not allow any metal items to come into contact with the battery
terminals, short circuits can start fires and cause explosions
• Do not allow positive and negative lead clamps to touch. Live clamps
touching could melt the leads, and start a fire
• Always handle battery terminal connectors at arms length
• Do not attempt to jump start any battery that is leaking, cracked, or
otherwise damaged
• Do not attempt to charge a frozen battery
• Unless the battery is of the 'maintenance free' type, always check that
the electrolyte level is correct before attempting to jump start
• Only use this starter with conventional lead-acid wet cell batteries.
Attempting to charge other types of battery is dangerous, and may
invalidate your guarantee
• Be aware that lead-acid batteries emit flammable gases during charging.
Do not charge batteries near to any kind of ignition, or heat, source. Do
not smoke. Ensure that batteries are well ventilated
• Always wear protective gloves and goggles when handling lead acid
batteries
• Always remove all metal jewellery before handling lead acid batteries
Jump Starter & Air Compressor
• Be aware that loose clothing / long hair etc could get caught in moving
engine parts when using this product, tie up hair and secure loose
clothing
• Wash thoroughly with soap and water if battery acid contacts skin or
clothing. If battery acid contacts eyes, wash thoroughly with clean water
and seek medical help
• Only use this jump starter in completely dry conditions

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all
its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If
any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool

Before Use

Charging the battery
• After unpacking, you must charge the battery in this unit. Be aware that
the initial charge may take up to 72 hours
• The battery should be kept charged at all times. Storing the unit with a
discharged battery may cause permanent damage
• Be aware that charging time will depend on the initial state of charge.
To check the battery condition, press the Battery Test Button (6). The
position of the needle on the Voltmeter (3) will indicate the current battery
condition
• The battery should be charged at 20ºC (room temperature)
• Battery charging may produce small amounts of flammable gases.
Ensure that there are no naked flames, or other ignition sources, near to
the charging area
Charging from 230V supply
1. Check that Positive and Negative Leads (2)+(5) are correctly stored
2. Insert the small plug of the 230V Charger (12) into the Charging Socket
(7)
3. Insert large plug of the 230V charger into a mains power supply
socket, check that the power supply is switched on
• For the initial charge, allow 48-72 hours. For a normal recharge allow
8-10 hours
• This jump starter is equipped with an automatic safety cut-out to help
prevent damage from over-charging
