1 Operating Elements and Connections

1.1 Front side of the active speaker system
1 Power switch
2 Input jack MIC1 (6.3 mm jack, mono) for connect -
ing a microphone to be used instead of the wireless
microphone
(When the microphone is connected, the signal of
the wireless microphone will be muted.)
3 Power LED
4 Volume control MIC1/W MIC for a microphone
connected to the jack MIC1 (2) or – if no micro-
phone is connected to the jack MIC1 – for the wire-
less microphone
5 Reception LED; will light up when the wireless
microphone is switched on and set to the radio
frequency of the active speaker system
6 Input jack MIC2 (6.3 mm jack, mono) for con -
necting an additional microphone
7 Volume control MIC2 for a microphone connected
to the jack MIC2 (6)
8 Input jack AUX (6.3 mm jack, mono) for connecting
a unit with line level output (e. g. portable CD
player, cassette recorder)
9 Volume control AUX for a unit connected to the jack
AUX (8)
10 Output jack REC. OUT (6.3 mm jack, mono) for
connecting a recorder or another amplifier
11 TREBLE control and BASS control
12 Selector switch CHANNEL for the receiving chan-
nel for radio transmission,
for turning the switch, use the adjusting key (26) of
the wireless microphone

13 Charging compartment for up to two batteries of
size AA: when charging the batteries, observe the
correct position of the poles (→ imprint in the com-
partment)
14 Charging LEDs for batteries of size AA:
L for the battery in the left part of the compartment
(13); R for the battery in the right part of the com-
partment
15 Charging LED for a 9 V battery
16 Charging compartment for a 9 V battery: for charg -
ing, connect the battery to the snap-on contacts
(19) and insert it into the compartment
17 Low voltage jack (centre contact = negative pole)
for connection to an external DC power supply
12 – 15 V, e. g. car battery; a plug with an outside

diameter of 5 mm or 5.5 mm and an inside diameter
of 2.1 mm is re quired
18 Battery compartment for eight batteries of size D
19 Snap-on contacts for connecting the 9 V battery to
be charged
20 Mains fuse; replace a blown fuse by one of the
same type only
21 Mains cable for connection to 230 V~/50 Hz
22 M8 threaded jack for mounting the system onto a
stand
1.3 Wireless microphone
23 Compartment for two (rechargeable) batteries of
size AA
24 Screw cap for the battery compartment (23)
25 Channel selector switch; for turning the switch, use
the adjusting key (26)
26 Adjusting key for the channel selector switch (25)
27 Power switch
28 LED BATT for the charging status of the batteries:
will shortly show red when the microphone is
switch ed on or off; if it lights up during operation,
the batteries are almost exhausted

2 Safety Notes

The units (active speaker system and wireless micro-
phone) correspond to all required directives of the EU
and are therefore marked with
WARNING The active speaker system is supplied
with hazardous mains voltage (230 V~).
Leave servicing to skilled personnel
only. Inexpert handling may cause an
electric shock hazard.
Please observe the following items in any case:

Protect the units against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
active speaker system, e. g. a drinking glass.
G
Do not set the active speaker system into operation
when connected to the mains and immediately dis-
connect the mains plug from the socket
1. in case of visible damage to the active speaker
system or to the mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.

A damaged mains cable must be replaced by skilled
personnel only.

Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
