Motion detector
IR24-PC is a 360° motion detector for automatic ventilation control of
HVAC systems. It uses infrared light. The detector has a change-over
output for activation/deactivation of a fan-coil controller. It is intended
for ceiling mounting.

Loosen the screw and remove the cover. Carefully lift out the electronics
cassette by bending the plastic clips outwards. Lead the cable into the
bottom part. Mount the bottom part on the ceiling. Replace the electronics
cassette and connect the cable to the corresponding terminals (see
Wiring below). Finally, replace the front cover.
Note: Do not touch the infrared sensor in the middle of the electronics
cassette.

On/Off delays
IR24-PC has individually settable On- and Off-delays, designed to
provide better energy management of HVAC systems. The detector is
normally in standby mode with its output relay inactive. Upon detect-
ing a movement, the On-delay is activated. After the On-delay has
timed out, a 1 minute waiting period is activated. If during this minute
motion is detected, the output relay will be activated and the Off-delay
initiated. If, however, no movement is detected during the waiting
period the IR24-PC will return to its standby mode.
When activated, the Off-delay will be restored to its start value with
each movement. If, for instance, the Off-delay is set to 5 minutes, the
relay will stay activated for 5 minutes after a motion has last been
detected. The IR24-PC will thereafter return to its standby mode.
The delay times are set using two jumpers on the board in accord-
ance with the table below.
Testing the function
To test the function of the detector, apply power supply and wait for
the detector to warm up (~25 sec.). The LED will blink (long and
short) during the warm-up period. Ensure that the jumper head con-
nectors of the On and Off delays are placed in the "A" position (the
shortest time). Walk across the detection zones at normal speed. The
LED will be lit when the sensor detects the motion.
Note: The LED will blink if a jumper head connector is not properly
placed.
