USE AND MAINTENANCE
• The pumps SH-20, SH-30, SH-60 and SH-90 are all rotation pumps and with fiber segments.
• The segments and bearing are oiled by the oiler of the pump. Normally the vacuum pump uses 6-10
ml oil per hour.
• Every year the vacuum pump must be cleaned to remove dirt.
• Remove the inlet pipe from the vacuum pump and pour 1-3 dl diesel oil or petroleum into the pump.
Turn the rotor around some times with the hand and leave the pump with the oil or petroleum for some
minutes in order to loosen any dirt from the pump. This should be done when the vacuum pump is
warm.
• Start the pump in order to empty out dirt and cleaning fluid and oil the pump again by pouring ½ dl oil
directly into the oiler and the vacuum pump. Let the pump work for some minutes to distribute the oil.
• Always remember to fill up the oiler and the oil bottle every week; at the same time empty out the
used oil from the oil bottle.
• Use oil: VG-68-HV (ISO) for oiling the vacuum pump.
• The used oil from the vacuum pump must be removed according to existing regulations.
• The filter at the oil bottle prevents dirt from getting into the oiler and the vacuum pump. The filter at the
oiler must be cleaned as required i.e. at least every 6 months and must be replaced every year.
• The wick which doses the oil for the vacuum pump must be replaced once a year. The oil tubes be-
tween the oiler and the vacuum pump must be replaced every second year.
• The silencer is equiped with a non return valve which prevents the pump from rotating in opposite
direction at a stop. There is a pipe stub at the bottom of the silencer which has to be connected to the
oil bottle with a nylon tube for collecting the used oil. The oil tube must be replaced every second year.
• The silencer must be checked for blocking up every 3 years. This should be performed by an autor-
ized fitter.
MOUNTING
When placing the vacuum pump the noise level of the aggregate must be taken into consideration. After
mounting the vacuum pump it should be checked if the pump draws oil through the oil pipe stub, and that
the pump does not leak at the exhaust pipe and the end cover.
How to find an error
Sympthom: Too small pump capacity
Possible error
The segments of the pump have blocked be-
cause of:
• Dirt.
• Wrong type of oil.
No vacuum at the oil pipe stub at the end co-
ver.
Defective segments and bearing.
Remedy
• Clean the pump and oil it.
• Clean the pump and use the right type of
oil.
If this does not help call an autorized fitter.
Clean the vacuum pump according to para-
graph 2.1. If this does not help call an autor-
ized fitter.
The pump must be sent in for repair.
