BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT
• Before using the waffle maker for the first time, wipe both the interior and exterior with a slightly
damp cloth or kitchen paper.
• Then to enhance the non-stick performance of the waffl e maker plates, always rub the plates with
a little butter or margarine (suitable for frying)
• When using for the fi rst time, the waffl e maker may emit a little smoke – this is normal. This is
due to the plates "curing" and will stop after a short time.
• There are two lights on the waffl e maker. The red light indicates that the power is on and the
green light indicates that the unit is heating.
When the waffl e maker has reached cooking temperature, the green "ready" light will go out. This
light will cycle on and off whilst in use – to keep a constant cooking temperature.
• For best results, wait until the unit is up to temperature (just as the green light goes out) before
adding the waffl e mixture to the product.
This will give crispier results.
• Ensure the food is thoroughly cooked inside and out before eating.
HOW TO USE YOUR WAFFLE MAKER
Plug in the waffl e maker so that the unit is heating whilst you prepare your waffl e mixture.
• When the ready light goes out, open the appliance and pour the batter evenly onto the bottom
plate. Make sure not to overfi ll, otherwise the dough might fl ow over the edges of the plates.
• Close the lid. Do not hold it during baking, as escaping steam might burn.
• Do not open the cover for the fi rst minute.
• Bake until golden brown, usually about 5 to 6 minutes.
• Remove the waffl es with a plastic or wood spatula. Never use any sharp metallic objects, as this
might damage the non-stick coating.
• Before making more waffl es wait for the green light on the waffl e maker to go out indicating it has
reached maximum operating temperature.
• When you have fi nished using the waffl e maker unplug the cord from the outlet and leave the
appliance open to cool.
