Assembly

Mounting the protective hood
NOTICE! Risk of injury! On the underside
of the protective hood there is a sharp
blade designed to cut the thread. Remove
the transportation protection mechanism
after mounting.

– Slide the thread spool (9) onto the shaft and fas-
ten with screw (10).
– Screw the protective hood (7) with screw (11) to
the unit.
– Remove the transportation protection mecha-
nism from the cutting blade (12).
Connect both trimmer bars
► P. 3, item 3
– Press in locking bolt (13) and slide the lower
trimmer bar into the upper trimmer bar so that
motor and thread head are correctly aligned.
– Ensure that the locking bolt is completely
clipped into one of the holes and is distinctly vis-
ible. Move the lower trimmer bar somewhat until
the locking bolt jumps out.
– Tighten up the toggle screw (14).
Mount the front handle

– Loosen screw (15) and turn the front handle (5)
into an upright position.
– Fasten screw (15).
Apply shoulder strap
► P. 4, item 5
– Screw the shoulder strap eyelet (16) to the eye-
bolt (4) as shown.

Operation

Check before starting the device!
DANGER! Risk of injury! The device may
only be put into operation if there are no
defects. If a part is defective it must be
replaced before the device is used again.
Check to make sure the device is in safe operating
condition:
– Check to make sure there are no visible defects.
– Check to make sure all device components are
correctly mounted.
Operation
WARNING! Risk of injury! Before starting
work check the area and remove all objects
which may be kicked up by the unit.
Proper position
Hold the unit
• with the left hand on the front handle;
• and the right hand at approximately hip level on
the operating handle;
• balanced in a comfortable way.
Attach extension cable
► P. 4, item 6
– Attach the device connector to the connector of
the extension cable.
– Pull the extension cable through the strain relief
mechanism (1) as shown.
Switching on and off
► P. 4, item 7
– Hold unit firmly in both hands.
– Switching on: Press the switch lock (3) and
simultaneously press the On/Off switch (8).
Press and hold the On/Off switch (8).
– Switching off: Release the On/Off switch (8).
Cutting tips
• Only cut with the left area of the cutting unit
(shown here as light grey) when the unit is being
moved from right to left.
• In the right (dark grey) area, the threads rotate in
the direction of the operator:
