4. Opening the gong
To open the gong, release the cover from the base (Fig. 2), if necessary use suita-
ble work tools (e.g. screwdriver) to push in the latches of the cover.
5. transformer operation with wired gong module
Numerous multi-storey apartments have a central bell plate at the entrance to the
building with pre-installed alternating current wiring to every apartment. Remove
the cover from the gong and insert 3 x 1.5V-batteries in – take care to ensure they
are inserted with the correct polarity.
Connecting the incoming bell lines with T1 and T4 produces a two-tone sound
when the entrance bell is pressed. Connecting the incoming bell lines to T3 and
T4 produces a polyphone melody when the entrance bell is pressed (refer to point
8 for melody selection).
A second bell can be installed at your apartment door for example at the same
time. Insert 3 x 1.5V-batteries – take care to ensure the polarity is correct.
Connecting the incoming bell lines with T1 and T4 produces a two-tone sound
when the other bell is pressed. Connecting the incoming bell lines to T3 and T4
produces a polyphone melody when the other bell is pressed (refer to point 8 for
melody selection).
Please observe that it is recommended to only use bell plates that have no illumi-
nation, since the light would lead to the batteries running out very quickly. These
varying connection possibilities enable you to distinguish calls between two bells,
between for example the bell ring of the entrance door and that of the apartment
door.
