CAUTION! Check that the device's electrical connections are correct
during installation. If the connecting cables between the motor and the
device were to be inverted, the device would operate at the incorrect
speed ratio. If you find that the device is not operating at the correct
speed ratio, contact the nearest Harken
Harken Italy Tech Service to have the electrical connections checked for

correctness.
CAUTION! Do not exceed the rated tightening torque of the motor cable
terminal fastening nuts (10 Nm).
The device is used to electrically control the winch connected to it via manual
operation of the buttons connected to it.
The device operation is the same for all series and sizes of winch.
CAUTION! In order to avoid accidents, ensure you have carefully read and
understood, and follow all warnings and the general instructions present
in the Harken Catalogue and on the www.harken.com website.
Each time you intend use the device, before doing so:
- check that the device is operating correctly,
- check that the control buttons connected to the device are in good
condition and operational.
Before using any function of the device:
- ensure that you have good visibility of the system and that you are
aware of its limits of movement,
- ensure that there are no persons or objects in the vicinity of the moving
parts.
Failure to observe these warnings could lead to accidents resulting in
damage to your vessel, personal injury or even death.
The device contains a processor which is able to perform diagnostics on various
parameters in order to activate a range of different options.
When it is turned on, the device runs system diagnostics (wiring, battery voltage,
internal functions); if an error is detected, the device will not operate and it will
display a warning light (see the section Diagnostics ans troubleshooting and faults).
When a button is pressed, the device checks the current and compares this with
its preset reference levels. In the event that these levels are exceeded, power to the
motor is cut for a preset time.
