Display of the radio signal strength
Consecutive number of
the captured networks
The network scan is ended after 4 minutes. All captured networks are shown consecutively in the display (1), each for 3 sec-
onds. Short press the red button (2) to page forward display levels manually.

Example:
At the same time the gateway sets up a link to the H SMP and transmits the results of the network scan to the H SMP for validi-
ty checking. The result of the check is returned to the gateway.
Successful auto install
Auto install is successful if the gateway has received all required networks defined in the H SMP.
The "INSTALL" + "OK" message is shown in the display for 60 minutes. The gateway is then placed in sleep mode. The
gateway can also be placed in sleep mode manually by a long press of the red button (2).
Failed auto install
Auto install has failed if the gateway has not received the required networks defined in the H SMP.
If automatic installation of the RNG5-STD has failed, the buzzer generates a short tone, the LED (3)
flashes red and the "FAILED" message is shown in the Display (1) for 60 minutes. The gateway is then
placed in sleep mode. The gateway can also be placed in sleep mode manually with a long press of the
red button (2).
Reasons for failure of the installation can be poor radio reception or the conditions of the validity check in the H SMP were not
fulfilled.
In this case we recommend the following procedure:
• Change the position within the building to achieve better radio conditions and restart the auto install.
• Contact the technical customer service department or your supplier to have the configuration of the gateway checked and
corrected.

No other action can be started while the gateway is performing an operation.
If the user attempts to start an action by pressing a button while the device is still performing an
operation, the buzzer generates a short tone, the LED (3) flashes red and the "busy" message is shown
in the display (1).

During the scanning process the radio signal strength of the net-
works is updated continuously. For example, while the display loop
is running, a node with a better signal strength may have been found
for a network already displayed with a certain signal strength. This
network is shown with the better signal strength the next time it is

If the conditions of the check are fulfilled, the buzzer generates a short tone, the
LED (3) flashes green and the "INSTALL" + "OK" message appears in the
display (1).
The gateway can now be mounted on the wall.
