Audio option

The VICO VICO unit can be ordered with an

additional audio board which permits
bidirectional audio transmission. It is
then possible to connect up to two mi-
crophones and loudspeakers or a tele-
phone receiver.
The audio function permits audible
monitoring parallel to the video trans-
mission as well as announcements to
the object. The audio option is also re-
quired when using entry phones.
All common audio standards are sup-
ported, thus providing compatibility
with the video telephone. In addition,
the audio signals received by the VICO
are monitored for DTMF codes. Thus
the VICO VICO unit can be controlled from
VICO VICO
the keypad of the video telephone.

DTMF control

The DTMF permits limited control of
the connected VICO VICO unit from video
VICO VICO
telephones. A differentiation must be
made between operation and configu-
ration.
• An operation executes a function, for
example the switching of a relay out-
put. If units are protected by a pass-
word, this must first be entered.
• A configuration function modifies pa-
rameters in the unit. An example is
the input of a call number. Correct
input of the service password is re-
quired to gain access to the configu-
ration.

VICO acknowledges the input of an

DTMF sequence by tones of different
length. A short tone indicates that the
command has been understood and
executed. A long tone indicates that an
incorrect or invalid code sequence has
been entered.
Summary of commands
The following functions can be con-
trolled using DTMF codes. In the case
of protected units, a password must be
entered to enable them. The passwords
are the same as for the password pro-
tection described above.

puts 0 to 7 as well as the motion de-
tector
• Playback and deletion of recordings
on the hard disk (only with hard disk
option)

passwords (requires service pass-
word)
Password input
Every command of the DTMF control
begins and ends with a number sign
"#". Enabling by entering the password
is necessary before inputs can be
made. The password must be entered
enclosed between two number signs. If
a password is not programmed, just
enter the two number signs "#".
