INSTALLATION

POWER SUPPLY AND DEMO MODE
1. Check if the mains voltage, shown on the type plate on the
bottom of the set, corresponds to your local mains supply. If
it does not, consult your dealer or service centre.
2. Connect the mains plug into the wall socket. The mains
supply is now switched on and the display will show the
PHILIPS demo mode.
™ PH..IL..IPS scrolls across the display continuously.
• Press the TIME SET to exit the demo mode and enter time
setting mode.
Note:
If power breakdown backup batteries are inserted, the display
will also show the PHILIPS demo mode.
3. To disconnect the set completely from the mains supply,
withdraw the mains plug from the wall socket.

POWER BREAKDOWN BACKUP
When the mains power fail, the complete clock radio will be
switched off. When the mains supply returns, the display will
show the PHILIPS demo mode and the correct clock time
has to be set again.
To retain the clock time and the set alarm time in the event of
an AC mains failure or disconnection, insert two 1.5V
batteries, type R06, UM3 or AA size (not supplied) into the
battery compartment: this will act as a power backup to retain
the clock and alarm times only. (Operation of the backlight
illumination, alarm and radio are excluded).
1. Open the battery door to insert batteries as indicated by
the + and – symbols inside the battery compartment. Close
the battery door.
2. Connect the mains plug to the wall socket.
• Replace the batteries once a year, or as often as necessary.
• Old and new or different types of batteries should not be
used in combination.
Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should
be disposed of properly.
