- Do not step onto the scales with wet feet, as this may cause you to slip.

Preparing for use

Inserting batteries

The appliance runs on four LR6 AA 1.5-volt batteries (included). We strongly advise you to use
Philips PowerLife batteries on account of their long life and environmental friendliness.
1 Remove the battery compartment cover (Fig. ).
 Insert the batteries and reattach the battery compartment cover (Fig. 3).
Make sure the + and - poles of the batteries point in the right direction.
3 Step onto the scales to let the appliance perform an automatic calibration.
The reading shown on the display during calibration is irrelevant.
