1 Snap the 2-in-1 attachment onto the appliance.
See 'Preparing for use', section 'Connecting and disconnecting
accessories'.
2 Put the plug in the wall socket.
Curling
1 Lock the two halves of the barrel by means of the slide. (fig. 9)
2 Make sure your hair is not too damp.
3 Clamp the end of a lock of hair between the barrel and the clip
by pressing down the lever and wind the lock round the barrel
towards the scalp. (fig. 10)
4 Release the clip after 8-10 seconds by means of the lever and
remove the barrel from the hair.
5 Let the curls cool down before combing, brushing or finger-
combing the hair to finish your style. (fig. 11)
Straightening
1 Make sure your hair is not too damp when you start
straightening.
2 Use the slide to open the barrel. (fig. 12)
3 Take a lock of hair and place it between the two halves of the
barrel.
4 Close the two halves of the barrel by pressing down the lever
and gently slide the barrel downwards until you reach the end of
the lock. (fig. 13)
5 Continue straightening one lock at a time until you have achieved
the desired straight hairstyle. (fig. 14)
Drying (HP4693 only)
1 Snap the nozzle onto the appliance.
