1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This product complies with the IP64 degree of protection and can therefore also be used in
moist environments.
This tester is only to be used on 6 – 690V AC/DC voltages!
It is vital that the voltage tester is checked as to function before use!
The internal electronics operate from -10 – 55°C.
Always store the voltage tester in a dry place.
This product must not be dismantled!
When testing voltage only get hold of the voltage tester at the insulated grips. Do not touch the
test tips!
The voltage tester is not designed for continuous operations. Thus do not keep it connected to
the network for over 30 seconds!
Do not use the product if not all the functions work correctly.
First measure a known voltage to check the proper functioning of the product
Caution: A 4-minute measurement pause needs to be kept to given a considerable charge placed
(measurement time in excess of 30 sec.)!

3. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The voltage tester is designed to the stipulations of EN 61243-3.
The product has been built for direct and alternating voltage from 6 to 690V.
The tester can test direct voltage polarity and the alternating voltage phase.
The direction of rotating field of three-phase networks can also be established.
In addition, the continuity can be checked and the diodes tested.
The display:
The display is of the high-in-contrast LCD type. Voltage is shown in 6V; 12V; 24V; 50V; 120V; 230V;
400V and 690V steps.
4. ALTERNATING VOLTAGES TESTING
Fig 1 (1+2)
Proceed with measuring as described under Item 1 „Safety Instructions".
Place contact electrodes (1) and (2) on the system parts to be tested.
4.1 PHASE TESTING UNDER ALTERNATING VOLTAGE
Fig 1 (2)
Proceed with measuring as described under Item 1 „Safety Instructions".
Place the contact electrode (2) on the system part to be tested.
The alternating voltage phase is present for this system part when the „R" symbol appears
[(6) Fig 2], the red LED lights up [(4) Fig 2] and a warning tone can be heard.
5. DIRECT VOLTAGE TESTING
Fig 1 - Fig 3
Proceed with measuring as described under Item 1 „Safety Instructions".
Place the contact electrodes [(1) and (2) Fig 1] on the system part to be tested.
With the plus pole at the contact electrode [(2) Fig 1], then the voltage measured appears on
the display as V+. The stepped range voltage of the bar diagram is also shown.
False polarity [positive pole at contact electrode [(1) Fig 1]] results in the yellow LED [(3) Fig 2]
lighting up and the sounding of a warning tone.
6. CONTINUITY TEST
Fig 1, 2, 5
Ensure that the area to be tested is de-energised.
Place the contact electrodes [(1) and (2) Fig 1] on the system part to be tested.
If there is a conducting electrical connection, then a „1" appears on the display, the yellow LED
[(3) Fig 2] lights up and a signal tone is sounded.
7. DIODES FUNCTION TEST
Fig 1, 2, 6
Ensure that the area to be tested is de-energised.
Place the contact electrodes [(1) and (2) Fig 1] on the diode to be tested. See to it here that the
connection is as follows - contact electrode [(2) Fig 1] to the anode and contact Electrode
[(1) Fig 1] to the cathode of the component to be tested.
A successful test results in a „1" appearing on the display, the yellow LED [(3) Fig 2] lighting up
and a signal tone sounding.

8. TESTING THE DIRECTION OF ROTATING FIELD AT THREE-PHASE
CURRENT POWER SYSTEMS
Bild 1, 2, 7
Proceed with measuring as described under Item 1 „Safety Instructions".
Place the contact electrode [(1) and (2) Fig 1] on the system part to be tested.
The display reveals the measured phase-to-phase voltage in volts („V+-" for alternating vol-
tage) and the stepped range voltage of the bar diagram. An acoustic warning tone additionally
sounds.
The LCD display indicates an „R" symbol when the two electrodes [(1) and (2) Fig 1] contact
two phases connected in the rotating clockwise sequence. If there is no rotating clockwise
sequence, then „L" is shown [(5) Fig 2].
9. RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT
Fig 1, 2, 8
Ensure that the test specimen, who be tested is de-energised.
Connect contact electrodes [(1) and (2) Fig 1] with the resistance to be tested.
Depress button Ω [(6) Fig 1] for resistance measurement.
Resistances from 0 to 2kΩ can be measured.
To return to the normal testing mode again depress Button Ω [(6) Fig 1].
10. MEASUREMENT POINT ILLUMINATION
Fig. 1
The internal LED is activated when the button [(7) Fig 1] is constantly depressed.
11. BATTERY CHANGE
Fig. 1, 9
Disconnect mains before work! Do not connect the device to the measuring points! Use a
screwdriver to open the cover [(8) Fig 1]. Remove the batteries and replace them with one of the
same type (Micro, AAA). Make sure the polarity is correct! The corresponding identification of
battery polarity is in the cover.
WEEE-REFERENCE OF DISPOSAL
In accordance with European defaults used electrical and electronics devices
may no more be given to the unsorted waste. The symbol of the waste bin on
wheels refers to the necessity of separate collection.
Please help with environmental protection and see to it that this device is given
to the for this purpose designated systems of waste sorting if you do not use it
any longer.
DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU of the EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF the COUNCIL of 4 July
2012 on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
BATTERIE
Batteries and accumulators are not to be disposed of in the normal
house waste bin. Every user is legally obliged, to hand over all batteries and
accumulators, irrespective of whether or not they contain harmful substances
to a communal collection point in the local town area or to a trade dealer so that
they can be disposed of in an orderly environmentally friendly manner.
Batteries and accumulators should only be handed over when they are completely
discharged!
