Hints

The toaster may only be used for toasting bread, toast and buns. Other
foodstuff or materials may not be warmed up, grilled or toasted in this unit.
Dry bread can burn. Never use the toaster near or underneath curtains or
other flammable materials. Please note that dry bread browns more
quickly than fresh bread.
Make sure that bread slices are not too thick to avoid them getting stuck
between the heating elements. In such a case the toaster cannot switch off
automatically.
Never put metal object in the toast slots! First unplug from power mains
and if necessary, remove bread or toast with a suitable wooden utensil.
Take care not to touch the heating elements!

Before first Use

Remove all packaging form the unit. Also see into the toast slots. Do not leave
packaging materials lying around. Plastic bags may become a deadly toy for
small children.
Clean the toaster as described in the chapter "Cleaning".
Before the first use operate the toaster once on maximum heat without any
bread to remove residues left over from the manufacturing process. The
toaster may produce some smoke or smell. Thereafter your toaster is ready to
use.

Toasting Bread or Toast

1. Connect the plug to the power mains. Use the browning rotary switch (4)
to set the desired degree of browning.
2. For less browning select the lowest stage 1 and for high browning the
stage 7.
3. Insert the slices of bread or toast into the toast slots and press the toast
lever (5) down until it locks. Please note that the toast lever engages only
if the plug has been connected to power mains.
4. The heating element is now switched on. The toasted slices will be
automatically ejected from the slots when they are done. The toaster
switches off automatically.
