P olymax 1, 1/120 °C, 3 and 5
Operation of the Polymax 1/120 °C
The Polymax 1/120 °C is
equipped with a safety lock
which only allows the lid to
open when the operating
pressure in the unit has fallen
and the temperature is lower
than 95 °C. In this way the
sudden escape of 120 °C hot
steam is avoided, if the lid is
opened.
This means that in the applica-
tion process the pressure pot
has to remain closed when the
unit is turned off and pressure is
exerted.
When the unit is turned on and
pressure is connected the pre-
ssure pot exhausts automatically
and the lid (3) can be opened.
When using the timer (16) the
pressure pot is pressurised.
Press the main button (9), the
red signal lamp inside the switch
becomes alight, the unit venti-
lates the pressure pot.
Swivel the lid (3) to the right
and fill in water (max.: 30 mm
below the upper edge). Put the
objects into the pressure pot.
Control the correct position of
the O-ring (7).
Close the lid (3) and select the
temperature by means of the
temperature control (15).
Set the timer (16), the signal.
lamp (12) is alight (add the
heating time of the water bath

to the polymerisation time!).
The manometer (13) indicates
the operating pressure.
The lid sealing system closes
automatically as soon as
pressure is turned on.
The yellow control lamp (11)
signalises that the selected
temperature has been reached.
The adjusted pressure is indica-
ted at the manometer (13).
When the time has passed the
unit ventilates automatically. The
lid of the Polymax 1/120 °C can,
however, only be opened when
the temperature of the water
bath has fallen below 95 °C.
The possibility of opening the lid
is indicated by the green control
lamp (42).
If the pressure pot has got a
temperature of more than
95 °C after the time has run
out, it is cooled down by cold
air until the temperature has
fallen below 95 °C. During this
time the cooling air is released
by means of the silencer (25).
When operating at 120 °C the
cool down phase can take 5 - 8
minutes from time expiration to
the opening of the lid.
Open the lid and remove the
objects.
According to the temperature of
the water bath the objects have
to be inserted and taken out
with suitable instruments.
