Charging Up the Battery

PLEASE NOTE!
■ The main unit must be switched off when the adapter is being connected or remo-
ved.
■ Always place the device on a dry, level, fi rm and heat-resistant surface for charging.
■ Risk of short-circuits! Do not insert any conducting objects (e.g. screwdrivers or
similar items) into the charging socket of the main unit.
■ Pull the adapter out of the plug socket if it is not used for a lengthy period of time.
– It is essential that you charge up the battery fully before you fi rst use the device
in order to achieve the maximum charging capacity. The fi rst charging process
will last for approx. 4 – 5 hours.
– If the battery is fully discharged during use, it will take approx. 3 – 3.5 hours for
the battery to be recharged.
4. First disconnect the adapter from the mains power and then from the main unit.
5. When the battery has run out, the control lampon the On / Off alternates between
red and blue and the device turns off.

Assembling the Device

1. If you have not already done so, place the nozzle with scraper lip (4) onto the device:
– Plug the nozzle as far as it will go into the suction opening on the front of the
collecting container (5) and check that it fi ts securely. The release button (3) must
be heard to lock in place.
2. If you need to, plug the telescopic rod (6) into the opening on top of the device. The
locking catch must be heard to lock in place.
3. Adjust the telescopic rod to the length you require:
– Twist the top part of the extension rod anticlockwise to release the telescopic rod.
– Extend the rod to the length you require.
– Twist the top part clockwise to fi x the telescopic rod in place.
When you want to remove the nozzle again, press the release button and at the same
time pull the nozzle out of the suction opening.

1. Connect the barrel connector of the adapter (7) to the
main unit.
2. Connect the adapter to a properly installed, easily acces-
sible plug socket. The control lamp on the On / Off (1)
switch then lights up blue and fl ashes while the device is
charging.
3. Allow the battery of the device to charge up for around
3 – 3.5 hours. The control lampon the On / Off is lit up
permanently in blue when the device is fully charged.
