Intended Use
The product is intended for a paretic or spastic hand that needs
the support of an orthosis to maintain or increase the mobility of
the hand.
With the wrist in a neutral position and with the help of a
distributed pressure on volar- and dorsal side of the hand and arm
facilitates venous return. Good biomechanical positioning of the
joints can stimulate relaxation.
The orthosis is also intended for patients with rheumatic diseases
which need a resting brace after a hand surgery.
By reshaping the MCP and IP joints positioned to so-called
"Position of Safe Immobilization"(POSI), the orthosis can also be
used for trauma fractures, ligament injuries, burns, etc.
Indications
Stroke, CP, rheumatic arthritis, radial nerve palsy, edema, plexus-
and muscular dystrophy patients etc.
Contraindications
No known.

Carefully read this instruction sheet before use!
Warning
Do not pull the straps too tight as this can cause poor circulation
and/or skin irritation. Check the skin on a daily basis and if you see
or feel any irritations or other problems, take it off immediately. If
you have marks or chafing that do not reduce within a short time
(30 minutes) contact your clinician immediately.
How to use the support
Check that you have the correct size. Your full hand and fingers
should fit inside the orthosis. If the product have accessories
mounted such as the finger divider, wedge or additional wrist strap,
check that these are correctly positioned on the product. Follow
the fitters instructions for use.
Material specifications
This product is made from Polyester, Nylon and Spandex. Core of
aluminum and polyethylene. It does not contain Latex. This product
is not flame retardant.
Wash instruction
Close all Velcro prior to laundering. Use a washing bag. Machine
washable in 40°C (104°F) gentle cycle. Dry flat. Do not tumble dry
or dry clean.

Zweckbestimmung
Diese Orthese ist für den Einsatz bei einer schlaffen oder spastischen
Lähmung der Hand bestimmt. Sie sorgt dafür, dass die Beweglichkeit
der Hand bewahrt und verbessert wird. Mit der Anwendung wird das
Handgelenk in eine Neutralstellung gebracht. Die damit einhergehende
gleichmäßigere Druckverteilung auf die Handfläche, den Handrücken
und Unterarm begünstigt den venösen Rückstrom. Eine gute biomech-
anische Positionierung der Gelenke kann die Entspannung stimulieren.
Die Orthese ist auch geeignet für Patienten mit rheumatischen
Erkrankungen, die eine Ruhe-Orthese nach einer Handoperation
benötigen.
Durch die Umformung und Positionierung der MCP- und IP-Gelenke
in eine sogenannte "Position of Safe Immobilization"(POSI, Position für
eine sichere Immobilisierung) kann die Orthese auch bei Trauma-
Frakturen, Bänderverletzungen, Verbrennungen usw. eingesetzt werden.
Indikationen
Schlaganfall, CP, rheumatoide Arthritis, radiale Nervenlähmung, Plexus
Brachialis Syndrom, Ödeme, Muskeldystrophie.
Kontraindikationen
Unbekannt.
Anpassung
Dieses Produkt darf nur durch medizinisches Fachpersonal angepasst
werden.
Achtung
Ziehen Sie die Bänder nicht zu eng an, da dies zu einer eingeschränkten
Gebrauchsanweisung
Überprüfen Sie, ob die Orthese vollständig und ohne Beschädigungen ist!
Rehabposition
Für den Techniker:
Um die Orthese in eine POSI-Position
(Position für eine sichere Immobilisierung)
umzuformen, muss das distale Teil der
Orthese angepasst werden. Hierzu muss der
Bereich der MCP-Gelenke zwischen 60° und
80° Flexion gebogen und der Bereich der
IP- und DIP-Gelenke voll gestreckt werden.

Lesen Sie diese Anleitung vor Gebrauch aufmerksam durch!
Durchblutung und /oder zu Hautreizungen führen kann. Kontrollieren
Sie täglich die Haut. Wenn Sie Irritationen oder andere Probleme erken-
nen oder fühlen, legen Sie die Orthese sofort ab. Wenn sich Druckstel-
len gebildet haben, die sich innerhalb kurzer Zeit (30 Minuten) nicht
zurückbilden, kontaktieren Sie bitte sofort Ihren Arzt.
Verwendung der Orthese
Überprüfen Sie, ob Sie die richtige Größe gewählt haben. Es sollten die
komplette Hand und die Finger in die Orthese passen. Wenn Zubehör
wie ein Fingerverteiler, Keil oder zusätzliche Handgelenkbänder mon-
tiert sind, prüfen Sie, ob diese korrekt auf dem Produkt positioniert
sind. Befolgen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung für Techniker.
Angabe des verwendeten Materials
Dieses Produkt ist aus Polyester, Nylon und Spandex hergestellt. Der
Kern besteht aus Aluminium und Polyethylen. Die Orthese enthält kein
Latex. Dieses Produkt ist nicht mit einem Schutzmittel gegen Flammen
versehen.
Waschanleitung
Vor dem Waschen müssen alle Klettverschlüsse geschlossen werden.
Verwenden Sie einen Waschbeutel. Maschinenwaschbar bei 40° C
Schonwaschgang. Flach trocknen. Nicht geeignet für den Trockner.
Nicht chemisch reinigen.

Der Techniker sollte sicherstellen,
dass die Orthese für die vorgesehene
Funktion die richtige Form und den
korrekten Gelenkwinkel hat. Die
Orthese hat einen Kern aus Aluminium,
welcher sich leicht in den gewünschten
Winkel und die Form für das Hand-

gelenk, den Daumen und die Finger
justieren lässt.
2.
Zum Anlegen der Orthese nur die mit
weißen Pfeilen markierten Bänder
öffnen (siehe Abb. A).
3.
Legen Sie die Hand in die Orthese und
stellen Sie sicher, dass der Daumen in
einer korrekten Position ist. Schließen
Sie zuerst das Verschluss über dem
Handgelenk. Justieren Sie das Band
schrittweise, so dass es keinen
proximalen Druck gibt und ein
komfortables Gefühl entsteht.
Bei Bedarf an einer zusätzlichen
Fixierung, z.B. bei erhöhter Spastik, kann
ein zusätzliches Band (28713) um das
Handgelenk gelegt werden.
Falls die Orthese mit einem
Handgelenkband
Fingerverteiler (28712) oder Keil
28713
(28711) ausgestattet ist, stellen Sie
sicher, dass diese jeweils korrekt auf
der Orthese positioniert sind.
4.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Orthese
komfortabel anliegt und sich keine
Druckstellen bilden.
