InStaLLatIon
•
Ensure that the mains electricity supply is
compatible with the unit.
•
Ensure that the unit is protected from
draughts and located in the darkest most
visible area of the room.
•
This unit may be used in either free
standing mode on a flat surface or wall-
mounted.
The unit is fitted with a 2 metre input cable and
operates at 230 volt supply. The input cable is
permanently fixed to the unit. Should a moulded
plug be removed from the lead supplied, this
must be disposed of safely. Connect power to
the unit by appropriate means ensuring power is
isolated and the unit is connected as follows:
L = Brown (Live), E = Green/Yellow (Earth),
N = Blue (Neutral)
Ensure that once installed the power cord is
adequately secured.
WaLL mountInG
Using the template mark the wall for the fixing
holes, ensuring that they are level. Use a 6mm
drill bit to drill the holes to a depth of 35mm,
using the plugs and screws provided, screw the
unit to the wall ensuring a strong fixing. Ensure
that the wall is adequate for the fixings supplied.
If the wall is of plasterboard or similar
construction, suitable fixings should be used.

•
The Sunburst is supplied with a glueboard
for trapping flying insects.
•
Remove the release paper from the sticky
board before putting it in the unit.
•
Insert the sticky board into the unit by
sliding it into the curved front so that the
sticky surface is facing the tube.
•
Change the sticky board every 2 months or
when full of insects.
oPEratIon
After the power supply to the unit has been

Disconnect the power to the unit before
attempting to change the tube.
•
Wait for the tube to cool before touching.
•
The tube has an Edison Screw fitting to
connect it to the unit.
•
To remove the tube turn it anti-clockwise
until it is free of the unit.
•
20 watt Ultraviolet tube- TUB20W521 (Use
of non-approved tubes may invalidate the
product warranty)
For continuous optimum performance the tube
must be replaced at least every 12 months,
preferably at the onset of warmer weather.

•
Disconnect the power before undertaking
any servicing or maintenance.
•
Use only PestWest original spare parts and
consumables when serving the unit. (Use
of non-approved spare parts may invalidate
the warranty).
•
Replace glueboards every 2 months or
more frequently as dictated by fly numbers.
•
Clean the exterior of the unit periodically
by wiping with a damp cloth, do not use
strong detergents or solvents.
PrEcautIonS
•
Always disconnect the unit from the power
source before cleaning or servicing.
•
Never immerse the unit in water.
•
For indoor use only, this appliance is not
suitable for use in barns, stables and similar
locations.
•
Never insert any object into the unit when
it is connected to the power source.
•
Do not attempt to dismantle the unit.
•
Always keep the power supply cord dry and
off the ground.
•
Never operate the unit when it is damaged.
•
Never pull on the power supply cord or the
unit itself when removing the plug from
the power source.
•
Avoid any form of mechanical shock.
•
This appliance is not intended for use
by persons including children without
experience and product knowledge
unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
•
Children should be supervised to ensure
they do not play with the appliance.
•
The appliance is to be kept out of the reach
of children.
•
The appliance is not to be used in locations
where flammable vapour or dust is likely
to exist.
•
If the supply cord is damaged, it should be
replaced by the manufacturer, it's service
agent or similarly qualified person to avoid
