Lassen Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall in einer Fach-
werkstatt reparieren.
Eine beschädigte Netzanschlußleitung darf nur
durch den Hersteller oder durch eine autorisierte
Fachwerkstatt ersetzt werden.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung
aus der Steckdose.
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, nicht richtig an-
geschlossen, falsch bedient oder nicht fachge-
recht repariert, kann für eventuelle Schäden keine
Haftung übernommen werden.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Chemikalien oder Wasser.
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb genom-
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.

Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Das Mischpult MPX-2004 mit vier Stereo-Eingangs-
kanälen und einem DJ-Mikrofonkanal ist für belie-
bige DJ-Anwendungen im privaten oder professio-
nellen Bereich geeignet.
Das Gerät kann sowohl frei aufgestellt als auch in
ein Bedienpult eingebaut werden. Es eignet sich
ebenso für die Montage in ein Rack (482 mm/19").
Für die Rackmontage wird eine Höhe von 5 HE (Hö-
heneinheiten) = 222 mm benötigt.

Gerät anschließen
Vor dem Anschließen von Geräten bzw. vor dem
Ändern bestehender Anschlüsse das Mischpult aus-
schalten.
1) Die Stereo-Tonquellen an die entsprechenden
Cinch-Eingangsbuchsen der Kanäle 1 – 4 an-
schließen (Buchse L = linker Kanal; Buchse R =
rechter Kanal):
- Geräte mit Line-Pegel-Ausgang (z. B. MiniDisk-

In any case the units must be repaired by author-
ized personnel.
A damaged mains cable may only be repaired by
the manufacturer or by authorized skilled person-
nel.
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not connected or operated in the
correct way or not repaired by authorized person-
nel, no liability for any damage will be accepted.
For cleaning only use a dry soft cloth, by no
means chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation permanently,
take it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be
connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with
the letter L or coloured red.

Applications
The mixer MPX-2004 with four stereo input chan-
nels and a DJ microphone channel is suitable for
any desired private or professional DJ applications.
The unit may either be used as a table top unit or
be installed into a console. It is also suitable for in-
stallation into a rack (482 mm/19"). For rack installa-
tion a height of 5 RS (rack spaces) = 222 mm is re-
quired.
Recorder, CD-Spieler, Kassettenrecorder) an
die Buchsen CD oder LINE (31);
- Plattenspieler mit Magnetsystem an die Buch-
sen PHONO (25). Die Klemmschraube GND
(32) kann als gemeinsamer Massepunkt ge-
nutzt werden: Den Masseanschluß des Plat-
tenspielers mit der Klemmschraube verbinden.
2) Ein DJ-Mikrofon an die XLR-Buchse DJ MIC (7)
auf der Frontseite oder an die 6,3-mm-Klinken-
buchse DJ MIC (27) auf der Rückseite anschlie-
ßen. (Bei Anschluß eines Mikrofons an die Klin-
kenbuchse wird die XLR-Buchse abgeschaltet.)
3) Ein zweites Mikrofon kann an die 6,3-mm-Klinken-
buchse MIC 2 (26) angeschlossen werden.
4) Den bzw. die Verstärker an den XLR-Masteraus-
gang (28) und /oder an den Cinch-Masterausgang
(29) anschließen.
5) Sollen Tonaufnahmen gemacht werden, das Auf-
nahmegerät an den Record-Ausgang REC (30)
anschließen. Der Aufnahmepegel ist unabhängig
von der Stellung des Masterfaders (19).
6) Über einen Stereo-Kopfhörer kann sowohl der Pre
Fader-Pegel jedes Stereo-Eingangskanals sowie
das laufende Musikprogramm vor dem Master-
fader (19) abgehört werden (siehe Kap. 5.5 „Vor-
hören der Kanäle über einen Kopfhörer"). Den
Stereo-Kopfhörer (Impedanz ≥ 8 Ω) an die Buchse
PHONES (23) anschließen.
7) Für eine optimale Pultbeleuchtung kann an die
XLR-Buchse LAMP (5) eine Schwanenhalsleuchte
(12 V/5 W max.) angeschlossen werden, z. B. die
Leuchte GNL-405 aus dem Programm von „img
Stage Line". Die Leuchte wird mit dem Mischpult
ein- und ausgeschaltet.
8) Zuletzt den Stecker des Netzkabels (24) in eine
Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz) stecken.

Bedienung
Vor dem Einschalten sollte der Masterfader (19) auf
Minimum gestellt werden, um starke Einschaltgeräu-
sche zu vermeiden. Dann das Mischpult mit dem

Connection of the unit
Prior to connection of units resp. prior to changing
existing connections switch off the mixer.
1) Connect the stereo audio sources to the corre-
sponding phono input jacks of channels 1 to 4
(jack L = left channel; jack R = right channel):
- Units with line level output (e. g. minidisk re-
corder, CD player, tape recorder) to the jacks
CD or LINE (31);
- Turntables with magnetic system to the jacks
PHONO (25). Clamping screw GND (32) may
be used as common ground: Connect the
ground of the turntable to the clamping screw.
2) Connect a DJ microphone to the XLR jack DJ
MIC (7) at the front or to the 6.3 mm jack DJ MIC
(27) at the rear. (If a microphone is connected to
the 6.3 mm jack, the XLR jack will be switched
off.)
3) It is possible to connect a second microphone to
the 6.3 mm jack MIC 2 (26).
4) Connect the amplifier or amplifiers to the XLR
master output (28) and/or to the phono master
output (29).
5) For audio recordings connect the recording unit
to the record output REC (30). The recording
level is independent of the position of the master
fader (19).
6) By means of stereo headphones it is possible to
monitor both the pre-fader level of each stereo
input channel and the current music programme
ahead of the master fader (19) – see chapter 5.5
"Pre-fader listening of the channels via head-
phones". Connect the stereo headphones (im-
pedance ≥ 8 Ω) to the jack PHONES (23).
7) For optimum console illumination it is possible to
connect a gooseneck lamp (12 V/5 W max.) to
the XLR jack LAMP (5), e. g. lamp GNL-405 from
the "img Stage Line" range. The lamp is switched
on and off via the mixer.
8) Finally connect the plug of the mains cable (24)
to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
Ein- /Ausschalter POWER (6) einschalten. Zur An-
zeige der Betriebsbereitschaft leuchtet die rote LED
über dem Schalter. Anschließend die angeschlosse-
nen Geräte einschalten.
5.1 Grundeinstellung der Kanäle 1 – 4
Für eine optimale Pegeleinstellung der an den Ein-
gangskanälen 1 – 4 angeschlossenen Geräte die
Gain-Regler (13), die Schieberegler der beiden Gra-
phic Equalizer (1 + 4) und den Balanceregler (20) in
die Mittelposition stellen. Beide ASSIGN-Schalter
(14 + 17) in die Position OFF stellen (Überblend-
funktion ausgeschaltet).
1) Mit den Umschalttasten (2) die angeschlossenen
Signalquellen anwählen.
Taste nicht gedrückt ( ):
Der Eingang LINE des Kanals ist angewählt.
Taste gedrückt ( ):
Der Eingang PHONO (bei Kanal 1 und 2) bzw.
CD (bei Kanal 3 und 4) ist angewählt.
2) Mit dem Masterfader (19) wird der Gesamtpegel
aller angeschlossenen Tonquellen eingestellt.

3) Zum Aussteuern eines Kanals die Fader (15) der
übrigen Kanäle auf Minimum stellen.
4) Die Tonsignale (Testsignale oder Musikstücke)
auf den jeweiligen Eingangskanal geben.
5) Anhand des VU-Meters (3) mit dem Fader (15)
den Pegel des Kanals ausregeln. Optimale Aus-
steuerung liegt vor, wenn bei den lautesten Pas-
sagen der 0-dB-Bereich des VU-Meters kurz auf-
leuchtet. Bei Pegelanzeigen über 0 dB ist der
Kanal übersteuert.
Der Fader sollte nach der Pegeleinstellung
auf ca

des Maximums stehen, damit zum Ein-

und Ausblenden genügend Reglerweg vorhan-
den ist. Bei sehr wenig oder sehr weit aufgezo-
genem Fader muß der Pegel durch Regulierung
der Eingangsverstärkung angepaßt werden: Den
GAIN-Regler (13) des Kanals entsprechend zu-
rück- bzw. aufdrehen.

Operation
Prior to switching on, the master fader (19) should
be set to minimum in order to prevent loud switching
noise. Then switch on the mixer by means of the
on/off switch POWER (6). The red LED above the
switch will indicate that the unit is ready for oper-
ation. Then switch on the connected units.
5.1 Basic adjustment of channels 1 to 4
For an optimum level adjustment of the units con-
nected to input channels 1 to 4 set the gain controls
(13), the sliding controls of the two graphic equal-
izers (1 + 4) and the balance control (20) to mid-
position. Set both ASSIGN switches (14 + 17) to the
position OFF (crossfading switched off).
1) Select the connected signal sources via the se-
lector buttons (2).

The input PHONO (for channels 1 and 2) resp.
CD (for channels 3 and 4) is selected.
2) The overall level of all connected audio sources
is adjusted via the master fader (19). Set the
master fader to approx.

3) For controlling a channel set the faders (15) of
the other channels to their minimum position.
4) Feed the audio signals (test signals or music
pieces) to the corresponding input channel.
5) Control the level of the channel by means of the
VU meter (3) with the fader (15). There is optimum
control if the 0 dB range of the VU meter shortly
lights up during music peaks. Overload of the
channel exists if the level display exceeds 0 dB.
After level adjustment the fader should be set

sufficient control range for fading in and out. If the
fader is moved up slightly or moved up very
much, the level must be matched by adjusting the
input amplification: Turn up or turn back the GAIN
control (13) of the channel accordingly.
