Before Putting into Operation
Charging Batteries (see figure
Use only the battery chargers listed on the ac-
cessories page. Only these battery chargers are
matched to the lithium ion battery of your power
tool.
The battery 8 is supplied partially charged. Com-
pletely charge the battery before using your
power tool for the first time. The lithium ion bat-
tery can be charged at any time without reducing
its service life. Interrupting the charging proce-
dure does not damage the battery.
To remove the battery 8, press the unlocking but-
tons 7 and pull out the battery downwards. Do not
exert any force.
The battery is equipped with an NTC temperature
control which allows charging only within a tem-
perature range of between 0 °C and 45 °C.
A long battery service life is achieved in this man-
ner.
Observe the notes on environmental protec-
tion.
Changing the Tool (see figure
Insert the screwdriver bit 1 directly into the tool
holder 2.
Do not use 2-sided screwdriver bits that are
longer than 25 mm.
Starting Operation
Inserting the Battery
Use only original Bosch lithium ion batteries
with the voltage listed on the nameplate of
your power tool.
Set the rotational direction switch 5 to the centre
position = lock-off and allow the charged bat-
tery 8 to engage into the handle.
Reversing the Rotational Direction
The rotational direction
switch 5 is used to re-
verse the rotational direc-
tion of the machine. How-
ever, this is not possible

Switching On and Off
To start the machine, press the On/Off switch 6
and keep it depressed.
The power light 9 lights up when the On/Off
switch 6 is halfway or fully depressed, and ena-
bles illumination of the screwing location in unfa-
vourable conditions.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off
switch 6. The lamp slowly goes out.
Setting the Torque
Carry out a practical test to determine with which
of the 10 settings of the torque setting ring 3 the
screws are driven flush into the material.
Low setting, e. g., small screws, soft

materials.
High setting, e. g., large screws, hard

materials.
Safety clutch deactivated, e. g., for un-
screwing screws.

When the torque setting is correctly adjusted, the
safety clutch disengages as soon as the screw is
driven flush into the material, or when the set
torque is reached. For unscrewing, select a
higher torque setting or set the symbol to "
Fully Automatic Spindle Locking
When the On/Off switch 6 is not pressed, the drill
spindle and thus the tool holder are locked.
This enables screws to be screwed in, even when
the battery is empty and allows for the machine to
be used as a screwdriver.
Temperature Dependent
Overload Protection
When using as intended for, the power tool can-
not be subject to overload. When the load is too
high or the allowable battery temperature
of 70 °C is exceeded, the speed is reduced. The
power tool will not run at full capacity until after
cooling down.
Protection Against Deep Discharging
The lithium ion battery is protected against deep
discharging. When the battery is discharged, the
machine is switched off by means of a protective
circuit: The tool holder cannot turn.
