8. AES/AI selector
To select the mode to go with the lens type used.
AES: when a fixed or manual iris lens is used.
AI: when an auto iris lens (video driven) is used.
9. IRIS VD/DD selector
To select the mode to go with the lens type used.
VD: when a Video Drive auto iris lens is used.
DD: when a Direct Drive auto iris lens is used.
10. Audio output connector (AUDIO OUT)
To connect the camera to the AUDIO IN connector of the monitor.
4. Beware
• Do not expose the device to rain or moisture to avoid fire or electroshock.
• Use a suitable 12VDC regulated power adapter to operate this device. The power tolerance of the device is
12VDC ±10% (10.8-13.2VDC). A power input exceeding 13.2VDC will damage the device.
• Connect the video output of this device (BNC connector) to a monitor only. Check the video output wiring before
powering the device and monitor on. If the power is provided through the video output, the device will be damaged.
5. Connections
1. Mount a lens onto the camera. For a list of assorted lenses, please visit the www.velleman.be website.
2. Set the lens selection switch (fig. 1, #3; AES/AI) as applicable.
3. Connect the video output (VIDEO) of the camera to the video input of the monitor with a 75 coaxial cable.
4. Connect the audio output (AUDIO) of the camera to the audio input of the monitor.
5. Connect a 12VDC regulated power supply to the power terminal of the camera.
Installation of the Auto Iris lens connector (when using a video drive lens)
The auto iris lens should be installed by a qualified person.
Cut the iris control cable at the connector to remove the existing lens connector, remove the cable cover and solder
the wires to the provided connector as indicated below:
6. Focus / Flange Adjustment
These adjustments should be carried out by a qualified person:
1. Mount the lens by turning it clockwise on the flange ring of the camera.
2. Loosen the flange ring fixation screw (fig. 1, #2) with the hex wrench.
3. Turn the flange ring (fig. 1, #1) to the desired position.
4. Tighten the flange ring fixation screw.
