• When using a plug-in mains it is important to
observe the correct polarity (inner contact plus,
outer contact minus), as indicated on the device .
Otherwise the device could be damaged .
• Before installation ensure that the available
mains voltage agrees with the operating voltage
specified for the device .
• The device must not be operated with a 12 V and
a 230 V supply at the same time . Always ensure
only one of the supplies is switched on at any
one time . Having the device powered by a 12 V
and a 230 V supply at the same time can lead
to damage to the device .
• Connect the plug-in mains adapter / the mains
adapter to a properly installed mains socket that
complies with the applicable regulations! Do
not use a multisocket adapter! Never touch the
mains adapter with moist or wet hands .
• Do not use the device if it has a damaged power
lead or a damaged mains adapter .
caution! A damaged mains lead presents a
serious danger to life from electric shock . Have
the device inspected and repaired at the service
centre only .
• In order to avoid safety risks, a damaged mains
connection lead must always be replaced by the
manufacturer, his representative or an equivalent
qualified person .
• Check the mains lead regularly for damage or
ageing effects .
• Protect the mains lead from sharp edges, mecha-
nical loads and hot surfaces .
The device is approved
for use only in a dry, enclosed,
indoor room .
• Do not place the device out in the rain . Do not
use it in a damp or wet environment .
• Do not place containers containing liquids, e .g .
flower vases, on the device . They could fall
over and the escaping liquid could result in
considerable damage or risk of electric shock .
• If water or foreign objects manage to enter
the device or the plug-in mains adapter or the
device is damaged, stop using the device and
disconnect it immediately from the power supply .
Before bringing the device into use again, have
it inspected and if necessary repaired by a
