To install the drivers for the USB to Serial cable, insert the Product CD-ROM in your CD-ROM
drive and select the installation instructions for your operating system in the subchapters
below.
2.1 Windows 2000 Installation
Connect the USB to Serial cable to a free USB port on your computer.
The 'New Hardware Wizard' will appear on your screen.
A. Select 'Specify a location' within the new hardware wizard.
B. Use the 'Browse' button to select the driver location on the Product CD-ROM,
which is 'E:\Drivers\Win2K_XP' (assuming E:\ is your CDROM Drive).
C. Press 'OK' to continue the installation.
D. A driver will be found. Select 'Next' to continue.
E. The driver for the USB to Serial cable will be installed on your computer.
F. When the wizard is complete, click 'Finish' to exit the wizard.
Note: It is advised to reboot your computer before you use the cable.
2.2 Windows XP installation
Connect the USB to Serial cable to a free USB port on your computer.
The 'New Hardware Wizard' will appear on your screen.
A. Select 'No, not this time' and click 'Next' to continue.
B. Select 'Install from a list or specific location' and click 'Next' to continue.
C. select 'Include this location in the search' and use the 'Browse' button to browse
to the driver folder on the CD-ROM: 'E:\Drivers\Win2K_XP' (assuming E:\ is your
CDROM Drive).
D. The wizard will install the USB to Serial cable.
E. When the wizard is complete, click 'Finish' to exit the wizard.
Note: It is advised to reboot your computer before you use the cable.
