5 V Power Supply Unit

These instructions are intended for
users without any specific technical
knowledge. Please read the instructions
carefully prior to operation and keep
them for later reference.
1 Applications
This switch mode power supply unit is used
for DC power supply (2.4 A max.) of electrical
low voltage units that can be fed or charged
via USB port (e. g. mobile phones, MP3 play-
ers, satellite navigation systems).
It is protected against short circuit, re-
verse polarity and overload. The special fea-
ture of the power supply unit is its extra low
current consumption (< 0.3 W) when the unit
connected has been switched off.
2 Safety Notes

WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains
voltage. Leave servicing to
skilled personnel only. Inexpert
handling of the unit may result
in electric shock.

The unit is suitable for indoor use only.
Protect it against dripping water and
splash water, high air humidity and heat
(admissible ambient temperature range
0 – 40 °C).

Immediately disconnect the unit from the
mains socket
1. if the unit is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after
the unit was dropped or suffered a
similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel.

never use chemicals or water.

liability for any resulting personal dam-
age or material damage will be accepted
if the unit is used for other purposes than
originally intended, if it is not correctly
connected, if it is overloaded or if it is not
repaired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of
operation definitively, take it to
a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the
environment.
3 Operation
Connect the low voltage units to be supplied
with power to the USB ports and connect
the power supply unit to a mains socket
(230 V/ 50 Hz).
Even if the units connected are switched
off, the power supply unit will have a low
power consumption. Therefore, always dis-
connect it from the mains when it is not used
for a longer period.
