BBQ Thermometer

Intended use
The BBQ thermometer is used as an insertion or immersion thermometer. It enables you to
measure temperatures of food. Thereby, only the probe tip may be immersed in liquids.
The product must not be cleaned in the dishwasher.
The power may only be supplied by three batteries/rechargeable batteries (type: see "Techni-
cal data") intended for this purpose. Any use other than that described above is not permitted
and can damage the product. In addition, it can lead to hazards such as short-circuit, fi re, etc.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of

Explanation of the symbols
In the operating manual, an exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates important
instructions.
The "hand" symbol indicates special information and advice on operating the device.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases, the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted for
safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use only in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product
must be allowed to become damp or wet. Protect the product from extreme tem-
peratures and direct sunlight.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, as it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• The stainless steel tips heat up while the product is being used. Thus, there is a
risk of burns.
• Keep the protective covers of the probe tips in a safe place and mount them
always when you store the thermometer.
General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk that they could be
swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re.
There is a risk of explosion.
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, there is a risk of explosion! Only charge
rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Never mix standard batteries with rechargeable batteries, use either standard batteries or
rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charge levels (e. g. full and half-full
batteries/rechargeable batteries).
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus and minus).
• If you wish to use rechargeable batteries please note that, due to the lower output voltage
(batteries = 1.5 V, rechargeable batteries =1.2 V), the operating time will decrease. There-
fore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure long-lasting and
reliable operation.

Insertion and Replacement of Batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the casing. Remove the empty batteries, if
necessary. Insert three new batteries of type AAA/micro in the battery compartment observing
the correct polarity and then close the battery compartment cover again.

Operation

Briefl y press the "MODE" button to turn on the thermometer.
By pressing the "MODE" button again, you can select the desired cooked food (cooked food
variants see table at bottom). Please note that the predefi ned temperature ranges are only
guide values.
To measure the temperature, insert the stainless steel tips into the cooked food until about half
of the tip is immersed in the food. The display indicates the current temperature and the current
condition of the cooked food (degree of doneness). Depending on the cooked food and its
condition and consistency, the background lighting in the display also changes.
To activate the timer, press the "MODE" button for at least 3 seconds (confi rmation by acoustic
signal). Briefl y press the "MODE" button to activate the count-up function. The timer counts
up to max. 99 minutes and 59 seconds. The time can be stopped at any time by pressing the
button "MODE".
To use the count-down function, you can select the required time with the two buttons for the
minutes/seconds setting and confi rm this setting using the "MODE" button. When the set time
has elapsed, you hear a loud acoustic signal for approx. one minute and the display fl ashes.
