1. Proper Use of AC Current Clamp

• Measurement and conversion of alternating currents up to
1000 A AC rms max. (Hall-effect sensor)

• Output of converted current in the form of an AC voltage from
1 mV to 1000 mV to an AC voltmeter via the non-detachable
cord
• Measurement under adverse environmental conditions is not
permissible. Adverse environmental conditions include:
- damp or excessively high atmospheric humidity,
- dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvents,
- thunderstorms or thundery conditions such as strong elec-
trostatic fields etc.
Use other than that described above will result in damage to the
current clamp and also involves risk of hazards such as short-cir-
cuits, fire, electric shock etc. The entire product must not be
modified or converted. It is imperative to observe the safety
instructions!

2. Introduction, Physical Description

AC Current Clamp 110 can be used to measure alternating cur-
rents up to 1000 A max. The current clamp is ready to operate
once it has been connected to a multimeter (which has an AC mV
and V range or an auto-range function and an input impedance
equal to or greater than 10 MW).
The current clamp has a maximum opened width of 57 mm (to
accommodate busbars, component conductors, cable harnesses
etc.). The current clamp can be used by hobbyists and in indus-
trial applications (to a limited extent) or in schools and universi-
ties.

3. Safety Instructions

• The current clamp has been EMC (household) and safety tested
and meets the requirements of EC Directives 89/336/EEC and
73/23/EEC.
