Instructions for Use
Bluetooth vehicle hands-free telephone device
Article No. 84010 / 84110
General:
This versatile Bluetooth hands-free telephone device has been specially designed for use in vehicles and
has all the advantages of wireless communication using Bluetooth technology. An advanced integrated
microphone with DSP echo and noise suppression makes this device the ideal hands-free telephone
system.
Introduction:
Wireless Bluetooth technology
Bluetooth technology is a wireless data transmission protocol for short distances. It allows wireless
communication between Bluetooth-capable devices such as mobile telephones, PDAs, PCs, headphones
and computer peripherals, such as PC mice, keyboards and printers etc. The technology, which uses the
frequency band between 2.4 and 2.8 GHz, internationally known as ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical),
transmits information by means of changing the 79 different frequencies 1,600 times per second, with a
range of approx. 10 metres.

Function:
In order to be able to use your hands-free device, follow the following steps:
(a) Plug the device into the cigarette lighter socket. The LED now flashes green every 3 seconds and is
in standby mode.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended to use the adaptor supplied, since there are different sizes of cigarette
lighter sockets.
(b) To switch off the device, press and hold the multifunction button (no. 6 on the diagram) until the green
LED goes out.
(c) Now bring your mobile telephone to within 1 metre of the device in order to pair the devices.
Switching the Bluetooth hands-free system on and off:
Switching on:
Press and hold the multifunction button until you hear a short 'beep'. The green LED now flashes every 3
seconds.
Switching off:
Press and hold the multifunction button until you hear a short 'beep'. The green LED now goes out.
IMPORTANT:
(7) Optional: headphone output
Press the multifunction button every time when you have switched on the device in order to repeat the
pairing process. In this way, you can ensure that the mobile telephone and the hands-free system are
paired and remain so.
Pairing the mobile telephone and Bluetooth hands-free system:
Before using the device for the first time, it must be paired with a Bluetooth-capable mobile telephone. The
following steps describe the procedure for this:
(a) Plug the Bluetooth hands-free device into the cigarette lighter socket.
(b) Place the mobile telephone in the vicinity of the device (within 1 metre).
(c) Make sure that the Bluetooth hands-free device is switched off.
(d) Press and hold the multifunction button for approx. 6 seconds until you hear a 'beep'. The green LED
lights up and the device is now ready to be paired with the mobile telephone.
(e) Activate your mobile telephone's Bluetooth function (see the operating manual of your mobile
telephone). The Bluetooth hands-free device automatically searches for Bluetooth devices in the
vicinity.
(f) A list of Bluetooth devices will now be displayed on your mobile telephone. Select the "Car Kit" entry.
(g) Enter the pre-programmed password "9999" and press "OK" to start the pairing operation. After
successful completion, you will hear a long 'beep'. The device's green LED now flashes every 3
seconds.
