Intended Use
This 6 language translator includes a vocabulary of 20,000 words (order no.: 777050) or 20,000
words and 100 common text phrases/sayings (order no.: 777049). Translations between the fol-
lowing languages are possible ENG, FRE, GER, SPA, ITA, DUT.
The power is supplied by a 3V button cell battery (Item no. 777049 = CR2016, Item no. 777050
= CR2032).
The product is only intended for dry indoor locations.
Any use other than described above is not permitted and can damage the product. The product
may not be altered or converted.
The safety instructions and technical data must be followed without fail.
This product complies with the applicable National and European requirements. All names of
companies and products are the trademarks of the respective owner. All rights reserved.
Explanation of the Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of electric
shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during handling, opera-
tion and control.
The „Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential
damage!
We do not accept any liability for personal injury or damage to property caused
by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety instructions. The war-
ranty will be void in such cases.
• The product must not be modified or converted, as not only the CE approval will
become void but also the warranty.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the product requires some time to stabilise, in
order to adjust to the ambient temperature, before it can be used. Wait until the
product has has time to adjust to the ambient temperature. Water condensation
could form, which may cause damage to the product.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Please contact qualified personnel if you are unsure about the safety or the correct
use of the product.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic film /
bags etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a risk of suffocation.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect
the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are
to be observed.
• The product is only approved for use in dry indoor locations.

Battery notes

• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by chil-
dren or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
• Make sure that the battery is neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable bat-
teries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• If it is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage), remove the battery. Old batteries may leak and
cause damage to the product, which will lead to the loss of the warranty/guarantee.
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please read
the chapter „Disposal".
Inserting/Replacing the Batteries
The battery compartment is on the rear of the translator's case. To replace or insert a battery
proceed as follows:
• Remove the battery compartment's restraining screw(s).
• Remove the used battery, if necessary.
• Insert a new 3V button cell battery with the correct polarity (positive pole has to be directed
upwards) (Item no. 777049 = CR2016, Item no. 777050 = CR2032).
• Place the compartment lid on the battery compartment and secure it, with the restraining
screw(s) you removed previously.
Switching on or off
• Press the „ON/OFF" button, to turn the translator on or off.
• The translator switches off automatically, if a key is not pressed for 5 minutes or more.
Activating / deactivating the key sound
• Press the „MODE" button , until the display shows „0".
• The press the „B" button, to activate or deactivate the key sound.
User name entry
The user name is shown after the translator has been switched on. An optional user name can
be defined as follows:
• Press any language button (e.g. ENG, FRE, GER, SPA, ITA, DUT).
• Press and hold the key „
• „- -" will flash on the display.
• Enter the desired user name and press the „ENTER" key.
Selecting the functions/modes
The translator functions can be selected as follows
• Press the „MODE" button to select the following functions: TRANSLATOR, CALCULATOR,
GAME.
Translation function
To translate a word, do as follows:
• Select the function „TRANSLATOR", using the „MODE" button
• Press the key for the language in which you wish to enter the word (e. g. ENG, FRE, GER,
SPA, ITA, DUT).
• Enter the desired word. Press the „ENTER" key. You can search for more words using the keys
„
• When a language key is pressed, the entered word will be displayed in the corresponding lan-
guage.
• The translation can be cleared, by pressing the „CLR" button. You can then continue with a
new translation.
• Never pour fluids out above electrical devices.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified special-
ist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact
our technical service or another specialist.
If the LCD is difficult to read, the battery needs changing.
