AMBIENT AIR INDICATOR CO-1000
Item no. 10 25 42
INTENDED USE
The CO-1000 is a stationary measuring instrument to measure the carbon dioxide concen-
tration (CO2) in the ambient air with an exact and long-term stable NDIR measuring method
(non dispersive infrared absorption measurement).
The meter is intended for monitoring the carbon dioxide level in the room air in order to take
appropriate early measures for ventilation. An increased CO2 level leads to tiredness, lack of
concentration and decreased performance ability. The quality status is indicated as traffic light
display. The air temperature and humidity are measured at the same time. All three values are
indicated on the display at the same time.
To operate the device, a wall plug transformer is required that is enclosed. The voltage supply
ranges from 100 - 240 V/AC from the public grid.
Please read the operating instructions carefully and keep them. If you pass the product to third
party please also hand over the operating instructions.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. The safety instruction and all other information
must be followed at all times!
This product complies with the applicable National and European regulations. All names of

because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations
and combustible gases, vapours and solvents. The correct operation of the dis-
play is only guaranteed in the temperature range 0°C to +40°C.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, dis-
connect the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. A
safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions or
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. They could become a
dangerous playthings for children.
• Handle the product with care. The product can be damaged if crushed, struck or
dropped, even from a low height.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• Carbon dioxide is a transparent and odourless gas. Pay attention to your own
safety during all measurements. To protect the life of humans and animals, this
device must not be used in areas where high concentrations of carbon dioxide
are used industrially.
• Never touch the plug-in power unit with wet or damp hands. There is risk of fatal
®
electric shock.
• Do not pull the wall plug transformer from the socket by pulling on the cable.
Always hold the power adapter by the housing.

INSTALLATION OF THE DEVICE
GETTING STARTED
a) Connecting the wall plug transformer
The meter only operates with the included wall plug transformer. Plug the low-voltage plug of
the wall plug transformer into the socket (8) located on the side of the measuring device.
Connect the power adapter to a socket connected to the national grid.
b) Warm-up phase
After initial start-up the device is always in the warm-up phase. At an ambient temperature of
22°C, the warm-up phase takes <60 s. During this time, the measuring device will not be able
to show accurate indications on the display.
c) Measuring carbon dioxide levels, temperature and relative humidity
After the warm-up phase of approx. 60 seconds, the meter is in the automatic measurement
mode. The carbon dioxide level is displayed in ppm (parts per mol) in the upper half of the dis-
play, the temperature is shown in the lower half on the left, and the relative humidity is shown
in the lower half on the right.
However, the meter needs more time to deliver exact values. This is also dependent on the air
flow in the room.
The carbon dioxide value can be read after about 2 minutes, the temperature and humidity
values stabilize after approx. 20 - 30 minutes.
Place the meter so that sufficient
ambient air can flow through it. The air
240 mm
flow for the measurement enters the
device at the back. Avoid narrow
spaces, for example between books
etc. in order to prevent any effects on
the measured results. Choose a place
where a mains socket is available
close by.
