General handling of solar lamps
The performance of the solar light depends on the duration and strength of the sunlight in the
different seasons.
Long periods without suffi cient sun radiation (especially in winter) can lower the charge state of
the battery, thus not allowing for longer light periods. The battery stores less energy during the
day than it consumes at night. Thus, the light duration is inevitably reduced.
This could also mean that the battery runs completely fl at and becomes damaged as a result.
Therefore switch the solar lamp off in good time (switch position = OFF).
Keep the top of the solar light with the solar panel clean. Take particular care that the
cover plate does not become dirty and that it is kept free of snow and ice in winter.
This reduces the capacity of the solar cell.
Cold temperatures also have a negative impact on the operating time of the batteries (shorter
lighting period of the LEDs at night).
With respect to a long, trouble-free period of operation, we recommend storing the solar lamp
in a dry, warm room during the winter or when it is not used for a longer period. For this switch
off the solar lamp (switch position = OFF).
Remove the battery when storing the device and e.g. recharge it with an appropriate charger.
For removing resp. changing the battery observe the following chapter.
Remove/change battery
The rechargeable battery is located in the inside of the
lamp between solar cell and the white inner part.
Press the release button (see arrow) and move the inner
component up and out. You will see that it contains the
battery in a compartment. Note the polarity (pay atten-
tion to plus/+ and minus/-) and remove the battery.
Alternatively insert a new battery of the same type
(NiMH) and the same capacity (observe data on the
original battery) into the correct polarity, replace the
white inner part with the LED correctly and fi t it onto
the solar cell.
For charging proceed as described above in "Initial operation". In order to attain a good
capacity, we recommend changing the rechargeable battery every 12 months. A replacement
is necessary if the duration of lighting during the night is too short despite suffi cient charge
during the day.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Apart from the necessary changing of the batteries the product is maintenance-free. Only a
professional repair shop should attempt to maintain or clean the device.
The exterior of the product can be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with water. Do not
use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solution since the housing can be affected or the
function can be impaired.
Disposal
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
The battery integrated in the solar lamp must be disposed off separately. For this
observe chapter "Remove/change battery".
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
The user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries and storage batteries.
Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste.
(Rechargeable) batteries and accumulators that contain pollutants are marked with
the symbol illustrated, and indicates that it is prohibited to dispose of in household
waste.
The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are: Cd = Cadmium,Hg = Mer-
cury, Pb = Lead. You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries
free of charge at your community's collection point or any place where batteries/
rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus fulfi l the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
